Texan’s Week 4 Picks
Usual disclaimer: this is my opinion only. If you don’t like it, I still love you.
Welcome to drummers week. Songs featuring some of the best drummers in rock history.
Picks record this season: 28-20 (after horrendous 7-9 week 3)
lolAlpha
Game of the Week
Machu Picchu Hidden Dragons (3-0) v Korb Destroyers (3-0)
Number 1 v 2 in the Power Poll. Break out the fireworks, could this be a conference title game preview? tbh, playing either one of these teams is pretty much a Nightmare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94bGzWyHbu0 so who plays Freddie here? Such a big game they’re giving away free beer in Korb. Book my flight. MPHD 35, Korb 34
Other Games
Dallas Longhorns (3-0) v Nashville Hounds (2-1)
Props to both of these teams for showing up big when I didn’t think you would. No need to have a Panic Attack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv8D6b9aRE0 though, there’s plenty of time for me to guess wrong again. While both teams look good, it’s hard to second guess what Dallas is doing right now despite the fact they should probably change their name to Dallas Red Raiders per my alma mater. Dallas 42, Nashville 30
Odessa Mojo (2-1) v C-Town MF’n Hood (1-2)
Odessa ran out of Mojo last week while Hood was the unfortunate victim of Moose finally moving away from the zone experiment. They’re both gonna need some kind of Painkiller http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM__lPTWThU after last week for sure. The main question is can Odessa go into the Hood and be successful? Successful, hey they might even go all Zed on them. Odessa 38, Hood 20
E-City Mercenaries (2-1) v Milwaukee Juggernaughts (1-2)
Even in their win the Juggs have not played a whole lot of D this season. The same could have been said for ECM until last week. It’s going to be an Amazing Journey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NYQxDwCnmA for one of these teams this week as they either both go to .500 or ECM starts looking like a legit playoff team. ECM 49, Juggs 20
Krungthep Garudas (1-2) v Moosejaw Roughriders (1-2)
Two WL veterans who finally got back on track collide this week, allowing one to stay on track and the other to derail once again. Both of these teams are a real tribute to the best guys GLB has to offer, so send your wives off to buy some Avon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xW2AKkwJb_c&feature=related and watch this shit. (Yes, that is Dave Grohl making a guest drums appearance). I foresee a lower scoring than average game here. Krungthep 30, Moose 27
Sumatra Seahawks (1-2) v Tyrrhenian Sea Wasps(0-3)
Having been outscoring 264-24 so far this season, TSW hasn’t shown a whole lot of indication that they intend to compete. Sumatra meanwhile may be 1-2, but they’ve been in every game so far. Seems TSW already found their Message In A Bottle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enh_gyQooRg and they’re definitely getting off the island. Sumatra 56, TSW 13
Carthage Mad Clash (1-2) v The Drunken Addicts of Omerta (1-2)
While the loser of this game is by no means out of the race, the winner will feel a whole lot better getting back to .500. Hell, .500 could be a playoff team this season. At any rate, whomever wins this one is gonna be calling Dr. Feelgood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N2ygprxBow&feature=fvst for a special visit if you know what I mean. Carthage 38, Omerta 28
Cincinnati Shockers (1-2) v Lincoln Navigators (1-2)
It’s weird that one of these teams is about to need to climb out of a 1-3 hole, but hey it’s doable for either of them. The talent is there. They say any given Sunday, but this will be more like Sunday Bloody Sunday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM4vblG6BVQ imo. Lincoln 42, Cincy 40

Zeta
Game of the Week
Alpine (2-1) v Rosarica Titans of Fire (2-1)
This game could have some home field implications way down the road, but it’s way to early to know for certain. What I do know is that it’s the best matchup on paper in Zeta this week. What I want to know is who’s going in for The Kill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yvGCAvOAfM and who shies away. I recommend using two arms though, unlike Def Leopard’s drummer. I think Alpine is starting to pick up some steam. Alpine 45, RTF 30
Other Games
Canton Immortals (3-0) v East St. Louis Tire Fires (1-2)
ESL is off to an uncustomarily slow start, but the dots are still fierce. Can they slow down a Canton team that likes to pile up wins early in the season? If ESL wants to stay in the Limelight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwXjnVICb3I they need to pick up a win here. Hey, a loss isn’t the end of the world for them though. ESL 45, Canton 35
Paris Musketeers (3-0) v Three Kingdom Warriors (0-3)
This one could get ugly as it’s clear the focus is on HHWC, not TKW for uf and co. Paris had a close call last time out against the Monks but this should be pretty comfortable unless TKW turns an unexpected Roundabout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byeSPOIffVE for this week. Paris 52, TKW 17
Sofia Spiders (3-0) v Providence Radicals (0-3)
If you had to assign a 3-0 and an 0-3 to these two teams before the season started, you might have gotten it reversed. Sofia has been lights out on D while the Providence lights just haven’t turned on yet. Were the first 3 games just Foreplay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTFD5DZwK7g or an indication of things to come? (By the way the drum intro to this song is just disgusting). Sofia 45, Providence 20
Indianapolis Gurupies (2-1) v Krakow Ice Dragons (2-1)
.500 is not a bad place to be in WL, but what’s even better is a winning record and that’s what both of these teams would like to keep here. You can expect some Biblical Violence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdMDcG3zAEI in determining this outcome. Is Indy gonna throw up a promo or are they pretty confident? Indy 35, Krakow 24
Somalia Pirates (1-2) v Palembang Royally Drunken Monks (0-3)
Going into Monk Territory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_WHGV5bejk has only been moderately dangerous thus far, but that could change this week as they seemed to have gained some ground recently. At least the effort is there. Somalia is no slouch, taking ESL to the absolute limit and beating Queensland. Expert max effort from both teams trying to make a run. Monks 42, Somalia 28
Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers (2-1) v Mayan Prophecy (1-2)
Mayan is not that far away from being 2-1 instead of 1-2 but now they get another nasty treat on their schedule in the form of HHWC. Will it be Enter Sandman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QP-SIW6iKY for Mayan if they drop to 1-3 or do they beat the legends? I think Mayan is playing well enough to recover either way. HHWC 33, Mayan 24
Queensland Exiles (1-2) v Eastern European Alliance (1-2)
Neither of these teams has the record they want at this point but both of them have the firepower to do more. Unfortunately so do more than 8 games per conference. Before I Forget http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_09wFxoaeQ though, EEA has a better looking 1-2 up to this point. EEA 45, Queensland 21
