Machu Picchu Hidden Dragons (1-0) v Lincoln Navigators (1-0)
Two top teams collide as MPHD visits mini helmet day in a rocking Edward "Babe" Gomez Memorial Stadium. Cum On Feel The Noize http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KW2J_UZ8lQU that place will be rocking with a playoff feel in only week 2. Tbh, with 100 chem and their crushing of Providence I would have given MPHD the nod without a second thought but with promotions maybe a bit closer? MPHD 35, Lincoln 27

Odessa Mojo (1-0) v The Drunken Addicts of Omerta (1-0)
Another matchup of teams off to a good start as Omerta hosts the visiting world champs. Will they cordial hosts or will it be a House of Pain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1ntsBXdK88 for the Mojo? It’s hard to get much of a read based on week 1 but I’m guessing Omerta’s home field is in jeopardy. Odessa 42, Omerta 31

Nashville Hounds (1-0) v Milwaukee Juggernaughts (0-1)
The Juggs pretty much got embarrassed by Paris game 1 and I’m sure they’d like to get that taste out of their mouth against a Nashvilled team that doubled up TKW. They’ll have to be a Prime Mover http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtnCcWOS7y8 to pull that one off though because they’ve shown no indication as of yet that’s going to happen. Nashville 49, Juggs 20

Krungthep Garudas (0-1) v C-Town MF'n Hood (0-1)
Two veteran WL teams look to pick up that first W. One of them will get it unless I just jinxed them into a tie. Traveling to Krungthep is kinda traveling to Panama http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-NshzYK9y0 and if you can avoid getting into some kind of trouble you've done well. Korb Destroyers (1-0) v E-City Mercenaries (1-0)
I have thus far ignored Korb’s request to stay off the radar on the Power Poll but maybe I could have given ECM more attention because their offense looked stellar against ESL. It remains to be seen whether or not they will Jump http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PJic1Nm_sA up and bite Korb. After week 1 I think it will be a lot closer than I would have originally guessed. Dallas Longhorns (1-0) v Moosejaw Roughriders (0-1)
Traditional powerhouse MJ has not looked like it so far this season and they’ll need to start turning things around here pretty soon. Dallas on the other hand is looking very solid and I’d be surprised if they don’t end up a playoff team. Sumatra Seahawks (0-1) v Carthage Mad Clash (0-1)

It’s always tough to visit Sumatra but when they nerve nachos things get real interesting with all that cheese flying around. I was pleasantly surprised by Sumatra’s game 1 effort, can they go that last step? Sumatra 27, Carthage 24

Cincinnati Shockers (0-1) v Tyrrhenian Sea Wasps (0-1)
I was shocked that Cincy lost game 1 after how strong they looked in the preseason and they probably were as well. TSW meanwhile has just been getting steamrolled and even though you don’t want to throw around the word panic, it might be time for them to make some big adjustments already since they’re Livin’ On A Prayer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDK9QqIzhwk right now. Indianapolis Gurupies (1-0) v Rosarica Titans of Fire (1-0)
Two teams with long pro win streaks and a good start in WL are about to tear things up in Indy. RTF looks pretty strong and Indy looks absolutely awesome at the moment. Paris Musketeers (1-0) v East St. Louis Tire Fires (0-1)
Paris looked like they were giving Cardinal Richelieu an excommunication in their big win over the Juggs. No offense to the aforementioned Juggs, but ESL is a big step up in competition. Any time you visit East St. Louis you risk running into some guys who will be looking at 18 and Life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAQq72ULF_g later on and often you don’t come back out the same. Queensland Exiles (1-0) v Somalia Pirates (0-1)
Exiles v Pirates sounds like a new Capcom game but here it’s just dotball. QE would love to get off to a nice 2-0 start at the expense of Somalia who forgot to field their defense against Omerta. Whoever wins this one deserves to Rock and Roll All Night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAt7YbX0T9k before getting ready for the next grinding game. QE 52, Somalia 30

Sofia Spiders (1-0) v Mayan Prophecy (0-1)
Mayan lost game 1 but at least they put up a fight while Sofia’s D looks very legit right now. Their O wasn’t so bad either. It would pretty much be Paradise City http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rbm6GXllBiw for them to start out perfect, but even 2-0 guarantees you nothing in WL. Mayan from what I understand is allowed to show up and put in a game plan so let’s not start counting Ws yet. Sofia 30, Mayan 28

Canton Immortals (1-0) v Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers (1-0)
I’m not so sure about the wisdom of serving nachos and then carrying wives, maybe serve the nachos after? I guess those Hawaiians know what they’re doing though because they have won a crap ton of WL games. Canton is no slouch either and would love to emulate last season’s blistering start to the season. Krakow Ice Dragons (1-0) v Three Kingdom Warriors (0-1)
How about Krakow? I was very pleasantly surprised with their week 1 victory. Never count out TKW though because even when it looks like they’re starting slow (which is often) they turn it around and pour it on. Eastern European Alliance (0-1) v Providence Radicals (0-1)
Ok, so Providence got killed by MPHD but it doesn’t mean they aren’t darn good. Week 1 is weird and MPHD was already at full chem. EEA meanwhile gave Korb all they could handle so really I think these are both playoff teams. It’s definitely Heaven http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrSdXtFJG20 for the winner to get back to .500 and then start their climb to the top. EEA 27, Providence 20

Palembang Royally Drunken Monks (0-1) v Alpine (0-1)
The Monks had a heart-breaking 4th quarter after leading the Mojo all game while Alpine lost by the slimmest of margins in a game where both Ds were befuddled throughout. That’s to be expected though in an off-season where so much changed and mostly in favor of offense. Can't have picks with just the favorites chosen. I wouldn't discount EEA too much though, they're good and it is a weird season.

Monks vs. Alpine got the guitar shredding song. NICE!

If you had given us House of Pain, Livin' on a Prayer, Heaven, Jump or Panama I'd have smashed my monitor.
