I just ran out of meat seasoning and wanted to see if maybe there is a majority favorite out there. I usually use Everglades Seasoning.

What's the best out there?

Haha, I use salt, black pepper, white pepper, chili powder. Use the coarse grain sea salt and put them all on about 30 minutes per inch of thickness if you're grilling. Rinse the excess salt off, pat dry.

I have one that I blended myself--cayenne, sea salt, black pepper, garlic, cilantro, sugar, basil, red pepper and oregano---equal parts except the sugar which is half part

Best for ribs--thin layer of this mix, wrap the ribs in foil, cook in the oven for one and a half hours, let cool 30 mins, throw on the grill until the ribs start to bend over when you lift them--while on the grill rub with bbq sauce with a new laying every 5 -10 mins as you turn them.

I also make own rubs and spices for meat. For steaks, I use salt, pepper, brown sugar, thyme, sage, cumin and either cayenne or red pepper. For Pork and Chicken I substitute marjoram and poultry seasoning for thyme and red pepper.

Florida....but I'm from South Florida which ironically isn't the "South" lol. North Florida is much more the South than South Florida but I'll check next time...I go to Publix for everything so we'll see!
