MPHD vs Lincoln
MPHD comes off of a 20-10 win over DADDY. As stated previously it's defense that got them here and holding any team in WL to 10 points in the playoffs is impressive. Unfortunately for MPHD they get to play Lincoln who comes off of a 45 point 2nd half win over HHWC. Taunt and company will need more than 20 points if they expect to get further along in these playoffs so its time to kick the offense into high gear. Lincoln looked most impressive in what I thought would be a much closer game with HHWC. Lincoln needs to find a way to keep their D off the field for 37 minutes although its pretty impressive to put up 52 points in only 23 minutes of possession. In their last meeting MPHD squeaked by with a 38-35 win. I like this game for game of the week...great defense vs high powered offense...lets see which team is able to take one more step towards GLB greatness.
Prediction: Lincoln 31-14
Korb vs Alpine
Korb comes off a dominating performance over the Hood sending them back to the ghetto. Korb was most impressive in holding the Hood to negative yards rushing while racking up 327 yards on the ground themselves. Lets see if Korb is able to keep the ball rolling vs Alpine who was able to exercise the demons of Moose Jaw this week. Caviler stated that Moose Jaw was the worst possible match up for them and they hung around and hung around and put up 17 unanswered in the 4th Quarter to get the W and move on. Alpine has some work to do defensively though giving up 5.4 ypc and another 450 yards through the air. In their last meeting Alpine came through with a W, winning 31-30 but both teams were looking pretty heading into the playoffs and I doubt much effort was put into that game. Time to get to work...who moves on here?

Canton vs Odessa
Canton came out shaky this week going down like a whore in the strip club 19-0 at the half. They wouldn't leave disappointed though storming back with 23 unanswered in the 2nd half and blanking Mayan winning 23-19. Canton's defense better rest up though as they were on the field for just over 38 minutes this game and it wasn't so much of lack of defense but lack of offense that killed Canton. They better hit up The Rock and put in an application to Team Bring It because another performance like today and they will go packing vs Odessa and their stubborn Defense. Odessa also comes off of a thriller beating Sofia 27-26. Odessa is the defending Alpha Conference champs so these guys know what it takes to win and play for a league title. Like Canton, Odessa's defense was on the field for 37+ minutes but not from lack of offense or defense but more so credit to Sofia's ability to sustain longer drives and dink and dunk their way up the field. This one should be interesting to watch as both teams look to rebound off of disappointing wins. In their week 16 match up Canton beat the Mojo 48-30 but again I don't think either team had many cares going into this game. Can Odessa take one more step towards a 2nd Conference title game or will Canton continue its winning ways?
Prediction: Odessa 38-28
ESL vs Providence
ESL was able to avenge an earlier loss to Dallas this week beating the younger guys 20-7. ESL's defense was outstanding in this game holding Dallas to 218 yards and only allowing Dallas 21 minutes of possession. We all know ESL knows what it takes to win a title considering they went from should be demotion to WL champs last season. ESL looks to prove to everyone that they aren't another 1 hit wonder like Vanilla Ice. Providence comes off of a back and forth dog fight with the Garudas edging them out 31-24. Providence will have to find a way to keep their offense on the field longer than 22 minutes this game if they expect to go any further and beat the defending champs. The one bright spot for Providence today was the running game averaging 5.2 ypc in only 20 carries. Providence also managed a kick return TD today as well which is equally impressive IMO. Can Providence overcome the 45 point beat down that ESL gave them in their earlier meeting and upset the defending champs?
