Warrior General Games

So I recently saw a ranking system used for Oceania league play (although it was done for the entire league) and thought it would be interesting to run all our teams through it. It looks at Offensive yards and points totals, Defensive Yards allowed and points allowed, and adjusts each for how many yards per point. On offense this translates to converting yardage into points, and defensively to allowing inevitable yards but keeping teams out of the endzone or from kicking field goals. However, whereas he ranked by average of offensive and defensive YPP ranks, I ranked by YPP differential.

This is how the rankings turned out. Now that I have a template created it'll be easy to maintain it.

Obviously it neglects to take into account head to head record as #13 has beaten 4 teams ahead of them.

Its strictly a statistical ranking. You may have beaten those 4 teams but they have preformed better as a whole. Frankly it will be scewed until the end of the season when everyone has faced each other. The Night Riders have had a tough opening schedule while those other teams, including my Marvins, have had easier schedules in comparison. These rankings dont dictate who makes the playoffs, nor do they rank teams from best to worst. Its strictly a comparison of statistical production.

Indeed. The Night riders have had a tough schedule it seems. As the season progresses and you get to play more of your bottom lurkers it should pan out.

We've played what I believe to be the top 3 teams in our conference and LAX was the most troublesome for us. That LDE is ridiculous. I'm actually surprised we are that high.

Yea dude. He is crazy this season. I can't even explain what his guy is doing this year. All I can say is I'm glad he is on my team.

haha the guy had like 12 hurries and 4 TFL against us contributing to the only team to shut us out this season. I doubt many teams run effectively against you guys and teams that struggle to pass (like us) are in trouble. I think you guys will beat the Infection tomorrow and they are a great team. Should be a good game.
