I see nothing wrong with this. It looks more like the HB faked the SS out.

like it or not, the SS covers the HB move for move....just has terrible agility to change direction

Here are some plays that might be related from a scrimmage today.

The FS is set to cover HB weak or zone. For some reason the FS either takes a bad path or gets distracted by the WR.

Private scrimmage.

Granted they are low level players, with low agility, vision, however..................the ONLY guy he is covering is the HB. He doesn't even attempt to cover, he looks more like he's playing an under zone as he just runs to the sideline. He makes no attempt to run towards the HB at all. That would be some fake, especially considering that the HB didn't have the ball. Maybe his ghost ran to the sideline so the SS would follow.....C'mon coverage has to be better than this.

He's running to a spot where he can best intercept the HB's path. It just looks really bad because they're so slow, and the ball was thrown well before the intercept point. If he ran toward the HB, and the ball were not thrown early, he'd end up behind the HB.

Looks to me like a missed vision check and running to a default zone.

I can see those, looks to me like the FS thought the HB was staying in to block. Then saw the Hb coming out late.

As for the OP, i am agreeing with Truth and kuaggie. The SS takes the pathing to meet the HB, ball was just thrown sooner then the SS most likely saw. I am going to start the process and mark this as Likely Not a Bug

It's not a bug because it is working as intended. It is crappy code, but Bort has intentionally made screen pass coverage shitty.

I've got some fun ones from today that might relate... let me go find them. Also vote for them. :-)

Watch what the CB does:

http://www.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1637573&pbp_id=302110&flash=1

So it might relate to a zone immediately issue? The CB seems to get caught up in a block, but then goes and finishes his zone coverage before running a vision check on the ball carrier?

There was a better one, but I can't find it now... I marked it as a voted for play so that I could quickly reference it again, but there's no way of going back and finding which plays you voted for.

I've noticed that my SS's and CB's will not cover the HB in certain situations. Frustrating to say the least!

Actually, he is mirroring the HB movement. He is making no attempt to get to where he thinks an intercept pt would be. The HB is running laterally, so the SS does the same thing. That is the way Bort has it coded though, so it isn't a bug.

What about when the SS is set to - HB strong side - WR 2 - - - - - blitz.

Shouldn't the SS go for the HB first, if the HB is going for a screen?

Well, he don't. That seems to be a bug to me.
