Sorry about last week...the Gameday bus broke down and we couldn't get the show on the air! All is well now!

If this plays out right, week 7-10 look to be very exciting as at least two teams will get their first loss, and at least two teams will get their first win! However, to tide us over we have a Bronco upset special and WV vs Tripoli in the game of the week!

Ethiopian Food Mongers at Charlie Don't Surf
Charlie is looking strong after a rough start. Expect them to dominate against one of the worst teams in Elephant. There really isn't a reason to say more.

Ethiopia 3 - Charlie 30

UPSET SPECIAL
Burundi Broncs at TORO'S TEXANS
Now this is a fun matchup! TORO's has established themselves as a playoff contender and Burundi's "TRIPLE D" defense is quickly becoming one of the most feared in Africa! In the end, I don't think TORO's has what it takes to keep the twin Diesels and the Duck in check. While Burundi still needs a lot of work on offense, their defense is their rock.

Burundi 15 - TORO's 3

Salty Shellback at Zulu Warriors
Zulu is the cure for what ails you. After a quick trip to the Zulu Warriors, the Shellbacks get back to their winning ways. They may even score more than 20 points!

Salty 24 - Zulu - 3

West Nile Virus at Zambia Zombies
As long as Zambia can focus on the task at hand and not look ahead to Week 7, this one should be straighforward. Football is won in the trenches and the Virus just don't have enough beef up front.

West Nile 3 - Zambia 33

Sahara Sandstorm at Algeria Tigers
Algeria is better than their record and will show it...in week 7. Sahara tools up for the toughest stretch of their schedule after this game.

Sahara 24 - Algeria 6

GAME OF THE WEEK
Tripoli Leathernecks at West Virginia MountainMen
What a matchup! Two 3-2 teams. One will vault onto the inside track for hosting a home playoff game, the other will be at .500. The MountainMen are battle tested (and scared) while Tripoli is coming off a disappointing lost to Algeria. I'm gonna have to give an edge to the Mountainen on this one based on their performances against Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Tripoli 7 - MountainMen 17.

Gambia Piranhas at Monterey Magic
Monterey has talent, they just haven't put it all together yet. Gambia has shown they know how to win. I'll take Gambia!

Gambia 24 - Monterey 10

Zimbabwe Mighty Zulu Nation at Morningside Candysnatcher
Zimbabwe will become the third 6-0 team in Elephant on a nice Morningside roast setting up an epic clash next week against Zambia.

Zimbabwe 42 - Morningside 3

Thanks for the work put into this Packman.

We in Tripoli appreciate the underdog status and just gives us a little motivation to step it up.

From the halls of Montezuma,
To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land, and by three;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of a Tripoli Marine.

Go Leathernecks.

Yikes! The results are starting to roll in! What an exciting day in Elephant!

Morningside Candysnatcher 20 d. Zimbabwe Mighty Zulu Nation 16
In the upset of the day, Morningside fresh off a thrashing by Zambia bounce back and catch the Mighty Zulu nation looking ahead to week 7! Props to Morningside for a great effort by their punter, Lupa Luna who averaged 41 yards including this great coffin corner! http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=7513916

Arbuckle Norwoods missed FG came up to cost Zimbabwe big time as it proved to be the difference. Zimbabwe was driving late and could have kicked a FG to seal the deal if they hadn't been trailing by 4. Instead Tomasic had to force a pass and was picked off by Cory Tow. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=7518021

Charlie Don't Surf 76 d. Ethiopia 0
Wow! This may be the biggest blow out so far in Elephant! This game doesn't need much commentary, this play pretty much speaks for the entire game. STEAMROLLED! http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=7516552

Zambia Zombies 37 d. West Nile Virus 3
Another dominant game by the Zombie defense defense. The only win for the Virus was in the punting game, holding ace return man, Abra Kadabra in check. I do wonder if kicker Ray FinkleEinhorn was feeling ok as he missed three FG's this game after having missed only one in the previous five outings this season!

TORO's TEXAS 9 d. Burundi Broncos 6
I called for 6 FG's kicked and there were 5. Sue me! TORO's rode their kicking game to a win, Kix-a-lot easily had the range advantage on Burundi's Elam and despite missing a chippie won the day. For the punters, TORO's Puntky Brewster netted 6.7 more yards thanks to a TORO's return and coverage teams. Burundi looked out of it early, but made an exciting 4th quarter hitting a 28.5 yarder to tie with 1:55 left in the 4th to send it to OT. Unforunately, a failed 4th down conversion in overtime sealed Burundi's fate as the TORO's were able to sneak a 45.5 yarder over the uprights.

More to come after a fairly long break!
