So we've gone 20 seasons, and we're at the most important game of the highest level. Bort, Catch et al have had plenty of time to see how things work at this level and to fix problems. We have a whole forum that (purportedly) solves bugs.
So surely the Season 20 WL final wouldn't be buggy as shit, right?
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1582311&pbp_id=13876387 - Watch the ROLB. Even though he appears to be every bit as fast as the receiver, he decides not to tackle the guy for 45 yards. WORKING AS INTENDED
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1582311&pbp_id=13878147 - Watch the QB's vision line. He is unable to switch off his first read, and for a few seconds isn't looking anywhere at all. If you think this is merely a graphics problem, watch the flash version and you'll see that the target disappears off the HB. The QB isn't looking anywhere, he just takes the play off. Sack. WORKING AS INTENDED.
END OF HALF - 19 seconds left, ESL faces 3rd and 0.5 and runs the ball for 1 yard. 1st down. Naturally the QB comes out to spike the ball so ESL gets a FG right? No, because man, it takes at least 19 seconds to get back to the line and spike the ball. Facepalm. ESL got fucked out of 3 here. WORKING AS INTENDED.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1582311&pbp_id=13881454 - Again we see a defender refusing to take a reasonable pursuit angle. In this case the CB is not as fast as the WR so obviously the only chance he has to make the tackle is to take a sharp pursuit angle. Instead he runs alongside the WR until he gets blocked, never trying to tackle him. WORKING AS INTENDED
This is a disgusting product 20 seasons in. I hate the fact that the most important game at the highest level was largely decided on buggy shit. Maybe someday Bort and Catch will make this game worth spending money on.
