WEEK 15 RANKINGS
LION
The Elite
1 Canton (14-0) - Gave up their highest point total in their last game. Is their a chink in their armor? Yeah, right.
The Could Have Been Contenders If Canton Were Gone
2 Somalia Pirates (13-1) - Big game coming up against Philly. A win will secure them the #2 seed.
3 Philly Franklins (12-2) - After what looked to be a promising start, Philly had to fight for this win. The Franklins ripped off 16 unanswered points in the first 26 minutes of the game. But then Lincoln took over the game for awhile as they put up 24 in a row of their own. Big back and forth battle but in the end Philly put up the last 14 points of the game to walk away with the W.
4 San Diego (11-3) - Big win over CWE as they just took the game over for 3 quarters before CWE even scored. Next week is pretty much a wash but they finish up with GP. These are two teams that should do very well next season.
5 CWE (9-5) - Dominated by SD for 3 quarters.
6 Lincoln (10-4) - They looked like they were going to pull off a big comeback but then Philly got back in it. Still in good shape to make a run at home field advantage with a softer schedule than some of the other teams up there.
7 Zambezi Silverbacks (9-5) - Like Lincoln, they could see their stock rise if for no other reason than they have a soft schedule and shouldn't lose another one.
8 Guyana Punch (8-6) - A couple of games separate GP and SD in the rankings but I'm looking forward to seeing who takes that game. GP will be fighting to get the hell out of the 8th seed auto-elimination match-up with Canton.
Better luck next season
9 Hall of Heroes (4-10) - Almost let TGR back in it but squeaked away with a 3 point win.
10 Nile River Assassins (4-10) - Another loss coming.
11 Texas Longhorns (4-10) - Auto win next week.
12 Transylvania (3-11) - One win left.
13 Uganda Silverbacks (4-10) - One more win left in them this season.
14 Komodo Dragon (2-12) - Can they get one more win?
15 Oklahoma Outlaws (3-11) - No more wins.
16 Port Arthur (0-14)- ...
ELEPHANT
The Fine Four
1 ICB (12-2) - It's a tight race for every playoff spot this season and ICB will have to fight all the way to hold the #1 seed.
2 Warriors (12-2) - Loss to Nairobi could cost them the #1 seed in the long run but they still have a shot at it if ICB stumbles.
3 TAP (12-2) - Coming on strong at the right time. If either of the top 2 slips up you can bet TAP will take advantage of that with their softer schedule.
4 RMT (11-3) - They have the toughest games remaining but at least they'll be on their toes for the playoffs.
The Muddy Waters
5 Sons (10-4) - Hell of a comeback. Sons didn't score a single TD for 58 minutes and were looking at an 11 point deficit. They put up 14 points in the last 2 minutes of the game thanks to a well timed forced fumble that allowed them to get a nice drive going and a quick 3 and out when A7 had the ball again.
6 A7 (9-5) - After 1 loss in the first half of the season A7 has now lost 4 out of their last 6. Not exactly roaring into the playoffs and with a game against BSSI left who knows if they even make it.
7 ABD (8-6) - Up and down season doesn't guarantee anything for ABD. There have been games that showed huge potential and games that make you scratch your head. With 2 winnable games left they should make the playoffs but they didn't exactly crush Ghana, Norfolk or ECS so nothing is guaranteed.
8 Nairobi (9-5) - 9-5. Just beat the #1 ranked Warriors. Facing the newly minted #1 ranked Breakers this week. At worst this team finishes 10-6 which keeps them in the playoffs.
9 BSSI (9-5) - Currently holding the 8th seed but they really need to take the last 2 games if they want to keep it. The losses to ABD and Nairobi could cost them their spot.
Better Luck Next Season
10 49ers (6-8) - Mathematically out of contention but they sure can play spoiler by knocking out ABD in week 16.
11 Guyana (6-8) - Took it to ABD and issued a pretty thorough beating that jeopardized their playoff spot. Can they screw up more seedings the next 2 weeks?
12 ECS (4-10) - Maybe one win left.
13 Ghana (3-11) - Down 0-13 after 3 quarters but they ripped off 14 unanswered to get a 1 point win.
14 Boston (1-13) - 1 shot at a win left.
15 London (1-13) - At least they got a win this season.
16 Norfolk (1-13) - Norfolk has yet to beat a single Elephant team but with Ghana and Boston left on schedule they still have hope.
