WEEK 10 RANKINGS
LION

1 Canton (9-0) - The beat down to the Hodags was expected but they flat out killed Lincoln too.

2 Somalia Pirates (9-0) - They may not be Canton but they are definitely filling in nicely as the second best team in the conference. Big battle of undefeateds next week gives them a shot to move up to #1.

3 Philly Franklins (8-1) - Still churning out the wins. Not blowing teams out of the water but I'm looking forward to the last 3 games of the season. Home game could be on the line.

4 CWE (7-2) - Took down Lincoln but they couldn't find a way to slow down the Pirates offense.

5 San Diego (8-1) - The AquaBats have only stumbled once against Philly but they also haven't faced the cream of the crop. We won't know what this team is really made of until the season is almost over but for now they move up a little.

6 Lincoln (6-3) - After opening the season with 6 wins the Saints have been on a downward spiral the last 3 weeks. They need to step it up against playoff worthy teams or their prospects look bleak.

7 Zambezi Silverbacks (5-4) - Still have some tough games left but the schedule is favorable from here on out and that could be enough to get them into the playoffs.

8 Guyana Punch (6-3) - I was tempted to move them a little but the next 4 weeks will really tell the story of this teams season and they haven't fared well against playoff prospective teams.

9 Hall of Heroes (2-7) - Things get easier from here on out but the season is a wash with the Hall sitting at 2-7.

10 Nile River Assassins (3-6) - I'm counting about 5 more losses this season so we can write them off for this season.

11 Komodo Dragon (2-7) - Still not out of their hell stretch.

12 Texas Longhorns (1-8) - Couple of winnable games left but, like all the teams in the bottom half of the conference, they're not playing for much now.

13 Transylvania (1-8) - Finally pick up a win but there won't be a streak here.

14 Oklahoma Outlaws (2-7) - Fell behind early against Trans and could never make up the ground. I only see 1-2 more wins left on their schedule so pretty much done.

15 Uganda Silverbacks (1-8) - After 5 close ones they finally pull out win #1 of the season. I don't see them sweeping their last 7 though so their season is over except as a possible spoiler role late in the season.

16 Port Arthur (0-9) - ...

ELEPHANT
1 Warriors (9-0) - Still undefeated and having a hell of a season so far. Not many challenges left this season but ICB will definitely be one of them.

2 TAP (7-2) - Beat Nairobi by 1 point thanks to a last minute FG with 29 seconds left in the game. These boys have lost 2 games this season by a total of 4 points and could easily be #1.

3 Sons (7-2) - Gave up 17 to Nairobi in the 4th to come up short. There's a lot of tough games left on their plate and this Sons team isn't as dominating as the one that's been ripping APL for a few seasons.

4 ABD (7-2) - The next 4 weeks will see ABD either step up to the plate or take a fall in the rankings.

5 ICB (7-2) - I want to make them #2 or #3 but with both losses coming against the teams ranked above them I just can't...yet. They did beat TAP though so if they can pull off the win against the Warriors this week they will jump up the rankings.

6 BSSI (7-2) - 7-2 seems to be the magic number this season. BSSI has a bunch of tough games left so they have plenty of shots to separate themselves from the rest in either a positive or negative way.

7 RMT (7-2) - A few wins over some solid teams gives this team hope. They've got 2 tough ones coming up that will help clear up this ranking nightmare.

8 A7 (7-2) - Guess what? This squad is 7-2 too! 5 tough games remaining on the schedule will make or break their season.

9 Nairobi (5-4) - They've played some damn good ball and come up short a few times. Schedule isn't horrible so they could make a push to rise in the rankings.

10 ECS (3-4) - I really don't see ECS rising above .500 again this season. Like Lion, there is a pretty clear line on who's in the playoff race and who isn't in Elephant. That line starts here.

11 49ers (2-7) - Can they put an end to their losing streak with Ghana and Boston on tap next.

12 Guyana (3-6) - On a 2 game streak but it is too little, too late. Don't forget this team took it to the #1 ranked Warriors in a close 4 point loss and were destined for good things at the beginning of the season. If they can surge now, they definitely have the potential to take 5-6 of their last 7 games.

13 Ghana (2-7) - Have lost a few close ones but it's a huge uphill battle from here on out.

14 Norfolk (1-8) - I think finishing 4-12 is optimistic at this point.

15 London (0-9) - Very few chances left for a win this season.

16 Boston (0-9) - Game against London this week will most likely determine who finishes dead last this season.

PREDICTIONS

Lion
Lincoln vs Guyana P
Both teams are sitting at 6-3 and looking to push themselves them further up in the seeding. Lincoln needs to break out of their funk here.

Somalia vs Canton
Battle for #1 here. Canton is just a cut above the rest as usual though.

Transylvania vs Philly
Philly shouldn't have too much trouble here.

Port Arthur vs Nile
Nile gets their easiest win of the season.

Texas vs Uganda
Both teams are struggling and I'm going to go against my better judgement and pick Texas here.

Zambezi vs San Diego
The AquaBats are 8-1 but haven't been tested too often this season. These teams could put on a battle this week and I see the Silverbacks doing just enough to pull out the win.

Komodo vs CWE
CWE should put the stomp down.

Hall vs Oklahoma
Both teams are having disappointing seasons but this should be a great game. I think they are fairly well matched up and this could come down to who turns the ball over the most. Going to give the Hall the benefit of the doubt but this could go either way.

Elephant
A7 vs ABD
Time to start clearing up this whole 7-2 nonsense. ABD has squeaked out some close wins against teams that aren't great. They need to play perfect ball here to come away with a win. I don't think that happens.

Norfolk vs Guyana
Must not speak.

RMT vs SoA
I can't believe that this is a tough call for me to make. That's not to disrespect the Thunder, but it speaks volumes as to how the Sons have lost their dominating luster. I'm still going Sons but I don't think it will be easy.

Boston vs LMMM
A shot at win #1 for both squads. I'll go with London.

Nairobi vs BSSI
Two former WL teams squaring off here. Nairobi has struggled more this season and, while I still think they're better than some people give them credit for, they will continue to struggle this week.

ECS vs TAP
TAP could be the top team in Ele if not for some bad breaks. This should go fairly easy for them.

Ghana vs 49ers
Another one that could go either way but in the long run it won't help either team out. I'll go with the 49ers since they bring back fresh memories of my youth and watching Joe Montana.

ICB vs Warriors
Looking forward to this game the most out of any this week. ICB has 2 tough losses to their name but managed to beat TAP, a team that could easily be #1. The Warriors have taken down all comers though and, for now, will continue to get the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks fellas. You know APL holds a soft spot in my heart Now go kick some OPL and SAPL ass.

Looks like I mixed up my Silverbacks picks...

And as for Elephant – Damn you all and your parity! It's looking like Ele will have the best set of playoff games the way things are going. No clear cut #1 team that can't be beaten.
