This is a simple RPI that I computed using the same formula that the NCAA basketball selection committee uses to select tournament teams. I calculated these values in Microsoft Excel. No bias whatsoever.

If anyone is wondering how the numbers are derived, it is comprised of three elements:

25% Winning Percentage
50% Opponent's Winning Percentage (strength of schedule)
25% Winning Percentage of Opponets' Opponents

Here are the results of the RPI through 6 games:

Lion Conference:

1. Johannesburg Impalas 0.635417
2. Nigeria Nightmares 0.622685
3. Mozambique Starvin Marvins 0.581019
4. Katanga Diamonds 0.571759
5. Red Sea Wave 0.56713
6. Band of Brothers 0.559028
7. Beltway Bandits 0.509259
8. Ethiopia Executioners 0.500000
9. A.C.T. Orcas 0.481481
10. Scottish Sharks 0.465278
11. Burundi Hutu 0.456019
12. Cape Verde Headhunters 0.437500
13. Rhein Man Magic Mushrooms 0.429398
14T. Oklahoma Fire 0.398148
14T. River City Riot 0.398148
16. Tijuana Thundercats 0.387731

Elephant Conference:

1. Kigali Silverbacks 0.630787
2. Gold Coast Corsairs 0.608796
3. Sierra Leone Magicians 0.562500
4. Valhalla Norsemen 0.560185
5. Ghana Buffalos 0.554398
6. Rwanda Assassins 0.547454
7. Kinshasa Rumblers 0.546296
8. Togo Strikers 0.523148
9. Cape Town Shinobis 0.480324
10. Senegal NATIONALS 0.473380
11. Zanzibar Leopards 0.467593
12. Somalia Whales 0.465278
13. Nairobi Night Hawks 0.450231
14. Cairo Crocodiles 0.425926
15. R.I.P. Phantoms 0.408565
16. Doinitin Djibouti 0.295139

Take these for what they are worth. I don't necessarily put too much stock in them when the NCAA uses them, I just thought it might serve as a sort of tiebreaker when Borsdt is choosing between 2 teams for a spot in the power rankings. It's also a more objective ranking system, as it is based solely on the numbers.

Incase anyone is interested as to why their teams are rated as high or low as they are in the RPI, here are the strength of schedule rankings (Opponent's Win %):

Strength of Schedule (1 = toughest, 32 = easiest):

1. Katanga Diamonds
2T. Senegal NATIONALS
2T. Red Sea Wave
2T. Rhein Man Magic Mushrooms
5T. Johannesburg Impalas
5T. Valhalla Norsemen
7T. Sierra Leone Magicians
7T. Tijuana Thundercats
7T. River City Riot
10T. Zanzibar Leopards
10T. Nairobi Night Hawks
10T. Cairo Crocodiles
13T. Togo Strikers
13T. A.C.T. Orcas
13T. Somalia Whales
13T. R.I.P. Phantoms
17T. Ethiopia Executioners
17T. Kigali Silverbacks
19T. Rwanda Assassins
19T. Burundi Hutu
21T. Nigeria Nightmares
21T. Mozambique Starvin Marvins
21T. Gold Coast Corsairs
24. Ghana Buffalos
25T. Band of Brothers
25T. Kinshasa Rumblers
25T. Oklahoma Fire
28. Beltway Bandits
29T. Cape Town Shinobis
29T. Scottish Sharks
31T. Cape Verde Headhunters
31T. Doinitin Djibouti

Let me know if you want me to continue doing these. I've seen other leagues posting RPIs, so I thought I'd do my own. We could also adjust it by incorporating other statistics such as strength of victory. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, at least we are scored higher than the Thundercats, even though we havent even managed to score a single point this whole season.

About 20 minutes to set up (because I had to catch up 6 games), but once you have it set up, it's easy to update.

We like the underdog role. Give us number 10 or something.

Maybe you should stop winning then.

You're even tied with a team that's won 2 games! That's the beauty of the RPI: gives you the benefit of the doubt for a tough schedule.

Life's not fair. I think you'd prefer to be winning than to be under the radar...
