The Top Teams:

1. Maine Grenadiers 8-0- last week's rank- 1, week 8 result- W vs WVWP 14-7- still undefeated, have to be #1
2. The Philosophers 7-1- last week's rank- 4, week 8 result- W vs PNP 13-10- they moved up more due to the other teams failures not to their success

The Contenders:

3. Crib Midgets 6-2- last week's rank- 10, week 8 result- W vs 85' Bears 28-14- their win moves them all the way up here, they beat the #1 team in the west
4. Chicago 85' Bears 7-1- last week's rank- 2, week 8 result- L vs Crib 14-28- normally that kind of loss would move them down more, but the Stranglers and FG had unconvincing performances against lower tier teams, so they stay here
5. SAS Chicken Stranglers 7-1- last week's rank- 5, week 8 result- W vs SOA 21-14- no reason to move up for that performance, but they still won
6. Fighting Gamecocks 7-1- last week's rank- 6, week 8 result- W vs Little Green Men 10-7- almost lost that game, lucky they didn’t move down
7. The Garrison of Rome 6-2- last week's rank- 8, week 8 result- W vs DInc. 28-14- they are for real and have a chance at the west
8. Pain Nation 5-3- last week's rank- 11, week 8 result- W vs SEC 21-0- always watch out for them, they are good as usual, nice win over a middle team
9. UT Pimps 5-2-1- last week's rank- 3, week 8 result- L vs BNI 13-28- bad loss to a team that hasn’t been so good lately, but I’m not sure if they’re getting worse or BNI is getting better
10. PNP 5-3- last week's rank- 9, week 8 result- L vs Philosophers 10-13- close loss, only moved down 1 spot for that

On the Edge of Contention:

11. Sir Flumps-A-lot- 5-3- last week's rank- 12, week 8 result- W vs SBWL 28-7- key win for the Flumps over a playoff competitor, they moved closer to a playoff spot
12. Brigate Nere Italia 4-4- last week's rank- 18, week 8 result- W vs UT 28-13- they were not supposed to win this game, but they did and if they get hot, could contend for the west, but they could also not make the playoffs, but they look good right now
13. Short Bus Window Lickers 4-3-1- last week's rank- 7, week 8 result- L vs Flumps 28-7- bad loss to the Flumps, they are not the contenders we all thought right now
14. Montpellier Wildcats 4-3-1- last week's rank- 15, week 8 result- W vs LIKPW 28-16- good win, probably could have moved up a couple more spots

Playoff Bubble:

15. Kill Devil Hill Flyers 4-4- last week's rank- 21, week 8 result- W vs Shy Town 17-14- they needed that win, they are currently in the playoffs
16. Wood Village 4-4- last week's rank- 14, week 8 result- L vs Maine 7-14- tough loss to Maine, if they had won, they would have probably been going to the playoffs
17. Shy Town Bears 4-4- last week's rank- 13, week 8 result- L vs Kill Devil 14-17- that is a surprising loss for them, they are technically still in the playoffs, but they need to do better
18. DIRTY INC. 3-4-1- last week's rank- 16, week 8 result- L vs GOR 14-21- not a bad loss to a good team, but they will need to win that last game against BNI, since I have them at 7-7-1 going into that, but to get there, they must beat SEC
19. S.E.C. Domination 3-4-1- last week's rank- 17, week 8 result- L vs PNM 0-21- looking like they’re going downward, need a win over DINC to even think about playoffs
20. Lunch Box 3-4-1- last week's rank- 22, week 8 result- W vs AC Surf 42-3- they move back up to this section after surviving that elimination game, but playoff hopes still look grim

Playoff Hopes on Life Support, Need to Be Careful to Avoid Demotion:

21. Little Green Men 3-5- last week's rank- 19, week 8 result- L vs FG 7-10- that loss pretty much wiped out their playoff hopes
22. Long Island Knights PW 3-5- last week's rank- 20, week 8 result- L vs Wildcats 16-28- same deal for them, they needed that win more than likely
23. Baytown Bulldogs 3-5- last week's rank- 24, week 8 result- W vs Helsinki 188-0- win over a CPU team, still need to get lucky to make the playoffs
24. BSBR 3-5- last week's rank- 25, week 8 result- W vs SAS 94-0- they could make the playoffs if they get hot, probably the most likely 3-5 team to make the playoffs, but ranked lower because of previous games
25. Boston GoatWarriors 3-5- last week's rank- 26, week 8 result- W vs Basic 77-3- probably out, they are not that good, but we’ll see

Demotion Teams, No Playoff Hopes:

26. Atlantic City Surf 2-5-1- last week's rank- 23, week 8 result- L vs LB 3-42- they’re done after that loss to Lunch Box
27. CrackerTown Juniors 2-6- last week's rank- 28, week 8 result- W vs OPF 70-14- beat a CPU team, still would take a miracle to get them in the playoffs
28. Sons of Anarchy 1-7- last week's rank- 27, week 8 result- L vs Stranglers 14-21- they were probably done last week, but now they are officially gone even though it was a close game
29. Basic Ai ONLY 2-5-1- last week's rank- 29, week 8 result- L vs BGW 3-77- they got a new owner, but not the kind that will help them

CPU/Non-Owned/No Player Teams:

30. OPF 1-7- last week's rank- 30, week 8 result- L vs CTJ 14-70- inactive owners
31. San Antonio Saviours 0-8- last week's rank- 31, week 8 result- L vs BSBR 0-94- CPU
32. Helsinki Hawks 0-8- last week's rank- 32, week 8 result- L vs Baytown 0-188- CPU

Awesome work jkid, but to add comment:

21. Little Green Men 3-5- last week's rank- 19, week 8 result- L vs FG 7-10- that loss pretty much wiped out their playoff hopes
I think LGM have a very good shot at a playoff spot. They have the easiest schedule remaining in the East. 23-40-1. Only two teams remain above .500. Might win out or drop 2 at the most so the worst they can do is go 9-7 and play tie breakers.

28. Sons of Anarchy 1-7- last week's rank- 27, week 8 result- L vs Stranglers 14-21- they were probably done last week, but now they are officially gone even though it was a close game

I think SOA staves off elimination. Has the 2nd easiest schedule remaining with 2 guarenteed wins possible 3 against Crackertown. They have lost a lot of very close games. They are still good enough to shock Monty, FGC and Short Bus. This team could turn around quickly like Little green men.

I did this pretty quickly, I don't have time to make it perfect like your newspaper. Great job on that BTW, it really told the whole story of last week.

Anyone notice that the #1 & #2 teams are owned and run by the same person?

This is why I made that post several seasons ago saying I didn't think it was a good idea to allow gold owners/coaches on multiple teams. I got shit on because of that post so I dropped the subject, but what I feared would happen is starting to happen. Since people can now own multiple PW teams, including Gold teams, the best owners/coaches will find themselves on more and more Gold teams to where the talent pool in Gold will be minimal and that makes it that much harder for new talent to break into Gold. And what might happen this season, is that an owner/coach with the best recipe for a particular season will find their MULTIPLE teams dominating all season and might play themselves in the championship game.

I simply don't like this. I like one team, one owner/coaching staff, period! This allows new talent to come in and develop in Gold. And if one team has my number in a certain season, I don't want to have to face that same coaching staff and system multiple times!

A possible example that could happen this season is what if a team makes it to the West conference final game against The Philosophers and is able to beat them to face Maine Grenadiers. Since both teams are own/run by the same person, RK, he now has a decided advantage in the championship game because of his experience against that team. Or what if both of RK's teams make it to the championship game, how uneventful of a championship game would that be? Sorry RK, not picking on you, it's just that you are the first person that can make my fears from a few seasons ago come true.

Sorry for the thread jack rant, just wanted to get that off my chest...

The advantage can go both ways. Last season Maine got beat by Crackertown 35-10. BNI's defense was almost entirely the same as Maine. Was good for me as I scouted the hell out of that game for preparing for BNI. Not to mention we had beat BNI during the season. We played a great game in the first half except giving up a punt return for a TD. In the second we couldnt stop them and False starts stopped all but one of our drives. While I agree it sucks facing teh same guys twice, it can be to your advantage as both teams owned and operated by thoses coaches will tell more than if they just had one team. Thats if both plays etc are the same.

Also what if TIA made it to gold?

Also The Philosophers were in the same conference whne the new teams arrived this season as Maine. TYhey somehow switched with someone. Was here in the East very briefley.

If things stay the same, I plan on making a point by taking as many teams to gold as I can, and just have them all no-no. My auto pilot system is good enough to keep teams in Gold most seasons.

If something happens to where you can't own and/or be a coach on more than one Gold team, and one of my Silver teams makes it to Gold, I will find a deserving coach who doesn't have a team of their own in Gold and will transfer the team to them.

So your mad because you havent accomplished that feat yet and others have? I plan on making a point by taking as many teams to gold as I can

Your saying it's wrong yet it was your plan all along?

We could have another issue with this. My Gold Test Squad team almost won the conference last year with 36-37 players and now I have 47 and real tactics. If they win the league, I would have 2 teams as well, but I don't do anything there.

As pee wee dies, I think more and more teams already owned by a Gold owner will end up here. Silver is really shallow outside a few teams.

Wasn't planning on taking either of my Silver teams to Gold as one is a 40-man no-no team and the other is a boosting/ceq optional team where most wont. I don't want people with multiple teams in Gold for the reasons I said above, and that does include myself.

However, making the situation worse seems to be the only way to get things noticed around here, so I am thinking about doing it, even though I really don't want to as it is more time and flex on my part. The Gold community will never agree to something like this on their own, so Bort and crew would have to make a change to enforce it, and the only way they will is to have a lot of people complain. And the quickest way to make them complain is to make the situation worse. So ya, I am thinking about doing it as it will get the ball rolling quicker. But I am open to other suggestions if you have any.

You have to go back to like s14 or 15 to find a Silver 1 Gold winner from the lolWest conference. And not too much before that It was mostly Silver 3 teams that were split before they merged everyone into one SEC type super conference in the East claiming they 'shuffled' teams.

So in conclusion.... Silver 1 will be won by a team from the East not either of yours
