with this play the CB has FB strong coverage and blitzes if the FB doesn't go out. however he just slowly walks to the opposite sideline.

It actually looks like he tries to get into position to intercept the first one. Same for the 2nd. Odd if he is set to blitz.

I know that it looks like he's reverting to the under middle fifth zone, or some kind of QB spy. Neither seem possible as that CB's default zone would be to the flats if I remember right. It is weird how he is lined up pre-play.

Also, is this play made on the old or new DPC creator?

this was new DPC.

i was thinking he was on QB spy also. i will go through the entire game later on. in this game we called this play a ton more than all others so it should be easy to spot if it worked right elsewhere.

i just checked and a few plays early in the game, he did exactly what he was supposed to.

the CB3 covers the 2 and the CB covers the FB strong side or blitzes. here is it working.

it seemed to only happen late in the game. i will watch the thing tomorrow and list the plays better.

as far as i can tell, it only happened on one drive in the fourth quarter for a couple plays when the game was out of hand. . the rest of the game was fine.

That looks like what a SS did for me when his first progression was held into block.

The play doesn't last as long, so he doesn't drift as far.

Catch said it was a failed vision check, but I haven't seen vision checks fail for that long. Especially on dots with 86 effective vision and high supervision.

if that is the case, they all seem to be caught in a failed vision check loop. that might explain the stuttering across the field.

in my game it was at least two different CB's in the plays i saw doing this.

it would make more sense if he kind of hesitated back and forth rather than wander in a straight line across the field.

This play looks like he is set to QB SPY. The LOLB covered the TE on that play and the HB stayed in to block so the MLB stayed where he was to cover HB..

Set to cover HB but the HB doesnt go out on a route so the CB stays put. TE was picked up by LB

Looks like the SS goes through the progression how you have it listed. HB doesn't go strong, so he heads towards the TE who was lined up to block on the other side, by the time he see's that the FB has the ball.

It looks to me like the MLB moves towards covering the HB, when the HB starts blocking he makes a movement over towards the TE but the play ends quickly.

These two links are the only ones I feel something fishy may be going on.

It seems the only fishy business is happening in the CB4 slot.
