Game Notes: Odessa is definitely the surprise team of the season. Despite losing their last game of the year they still go in as a #1 seed. Odessa has a very strong running game and a solid defense. They are last in Zeta in passing yards, but first in rushing by over a 1,000 yards. Cagliari can stop the run, coming in 3rd best in Zeta giving up 87 rush yards a game. I am feeling leery about this game. Odessa used a promotion for every single home game this year. I am sure they will for the playoffs, but as we all know, shit seems to be different in the playoffs. I think Caligari is going to continue the success of 8 seeds knocking off 1 seeds. Cali wins with a last second field goal.

Game Notes: These 2 team met 3 weeks ago. Gurupies won 31-14. This game will be a lot closer. I think this will probably be the best game of the round 1 games. Can the gurupies finally get a playoff win? Or with PhilPride make another run with the Jam? Jam has a better offense overall in rushing and passing. Gurupies need to hold onto the football. Fumbles have really hurt them this season. Historically the Gurupies have had the best ST in GLB each season, this season they seem to have fell back into the pack a little bit. I am guessing a ST TD win the game for them.

Game Notes: Nashville got a dominating win a few weeks ago shutting out the Gurupies. They seem to shut it down after that win. Can they put it back together in time for Moose? I think it will be a tough one. Moose has been solid all season. Their 3 losses all came to playoff teams. Moose loves to pass, they are 2nd in Zeta with almost 5,000 Pass Yards. The Hounds are 11th in Zeta in pass D, so it looks like that is a match up the Roughriders will try to exploit. Moose is giving up under 80 yards a game on the ground, so it looks like the Hounds will have to go to the air to win. They are capable of that, but I think they come up short.

Game Notes: Game should be a shoot-out. Alpine has the best offense in Zeta when they are right. Carthage is no slouch either. This game is really hard to read. Carthage is really hit or miss. The can definitely beat Alpine, but Alpine when they gameplan is very tough to stop. Their running backs are just plain sick. They were 2nd in zeta in rushing yards and 1 in YPC averaging just under 6 YPC. Carthage is solid against the run though giving up roughly 94 yards a game. Carthage can also tote the rock coming in third in zeta in rush yards. They aren't as explosive as Alpine, but are consistent. Both teams are about the same in Passing attack this year. Alpine does give up quite a bit more through air though. I believe those numbers are skewed though due to Alpine blowing out quite a few teams this year and forcing them to pass. I think this game goes Season 18 style and you see a shit load of passing yards.
