These are our rankings for week 5. They will get more accurate as the weeks go on. I was a little confused by a few of the rankings, but hey, that's how it goes.

--------------------------------------------

I give credit to Moontayle for these rankings as he gave me the equation to set it up. Here is his disclaimer as well...

My Power Rankings rely heavily on your overall record and what you've done recently. These rankings have been retooled from Season 2 to include a modifier for Margin of Victory that is weighted against the records of the team you played. So while conducting a 20 point win over a team with a winning record will do a lot for your Rankings, conducting an 80 point win against a team at the bottom of the league won't do anything, if at all.

Love how you are a GM with no players on the team.

We didn't play as well last week, good reminder from these rankings not to become complacent with some big games coming up

It is a marathon not a sprint. Being on top of the power rankings after 5 games will mean nothing if you do not win a championship and you make comments like that one.

Plus the fact that the alpha conference looks a lot stronger than the zeta conference, so it's not a surprise that they manage to get "first" in a ranking system that tries to rank all 32 teams even though 16 of them never play the other half until the last game

I'd still put the Hoard and Accomplishers as favorites to win it all, even though we should be picking up right now until we get to our next set of hard games.

Yeah, it's true that the teams haven't played one another, so we won't know how accurate the rankings are until the end of the season, however, it is quite easy to split the rankings into each division if you want to see where you stand in that regard, so it will give you a better idea of where you stack up against your opponents.

I have to excuse myself for my comment. People took it the wrong way as I ensured a perfect season to them (I mean come on, SORRY!).

Anyway, feels good to be the best of the week 5'ers. We are strong, but probably will face some tough opponents come inter league game/possibly championship time.

As far as conferences go, maybe alpha has more prepared teams. I havn't really checked them out due to no real reason other than curiosity. Maybe I will later on and see how we stack up.

Now that I have glanced at the starters for both leagues top to bottom, it looks like Alpha has a higher average level per team overall, while Zeta has more 'ringers' that are a few levels ahead of their peers. Nearly all the teams of Zeta fit this (including ours)

Yeah, I don't have FP to pay for any new players. I used the 200 leftover than my season one FP gift for my players' CE SA tree boost. Plus I find GMing a lot more rewarding than playing a position that doesn't have too many stats (occasional stats)

If I had the money I would probably get my own team, and horde it for my DTs well being on a competitive scale, lol.

The alpha conference is only strong with there top 4 teams at best, the zeta conference is stronger throughout besides the bottom few teams. The top four in these power rankings I do believe will be contending fo rthe championship.

When it comes to the playoffs, you never know who has players that will boost at the end of the year, or if any given undefeated team will make it past round one.

That happened to one of my teams last year. We went 16-0, had a solid game plan, and still lost in the 2nd round by a FG. There were two undefeated teams left at that point, and we both lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs to a "weaker" team (that is - weaker during the season).

You can just go ahead and throw us on the bottom of that list if you want, we haven't scored a single touchdown yet.

It doesn't matter that it's only week five, but it's still nice to be on top right now. Things will change, of course, but no reason to worry about it now
