Who here remembers early in APL? The Gold Coast Corsairs, the team that came up from AA and had a fairly solid time up here in APL for a couple of seasons before folding?

Well, when I saw a team go available in Pro, I jumped on and bought it. And since it was in Africa, I decided to resurrect an old legend that I OCed for and was a big part of.

The Corsairs are back. Now just to find the old logo and everything will be set. The team is filling up and should be pretty decent next season. I'm even going to talk to a special someone that used to be a big part of the Corsairs and see if I can get him back on board with us.

I'm glad to be back in APL

GL man, the hellfish had a ton of history and were a great team that APL will miss. Would be great if you could step in and have a squad that does the same

That's my goal. Anyone that remembers the Corsairs know we had a ton of history, and were one of the early teams to make it up to Pro after winning silver trophies in S3 and S5. It was the pinnacle of my career as an OC, so I'm looking forward to jumping back in with the Squad. I'll write up a history of the team sometime soon.

I did change the name as I wanted to let LC311 preserve the history and name of his team -- I know I'm picky about my team names and all, and am holding my old team from way back to make sure the name is preserved.

As for the roster -- there are plans underway to fill the roster already with fresh talent that should do well for us, along with some talent from a network I'm going to be a part of. The legacy of a team formerly known as the Hellfish will be preserved and enhanced through the relocation as the Gold Coast Corsairs.

I remember them from the Kings... i think we had a year of overlapping. Rhinos were one year behind the Kings in getting to APL, so that'd make sense.

Moose is a great agent, and should not be welcomed with open arms...

he will break some hearts with the level of talent that he has access too.

Just an update: Getting a ton of commits. We'll be young our first season, but have some solid players coming on board to help. It should be a fun season. I'm sure we'll get whooped a few times, but we're going to be a force sooner rather than later I feel, and would count on us being able to fight for a playoff spot this season.

Today's update: Much of the ownership team and group that originally ran the Corsairs is back on board for this reboot.

Now, it is just to getting dots signed.
