With about a billion different ways to figure it, I used point margin, wins/losses, and strength of opponents played as my most heavily weighted factors. Don't even ask how I got strength of opponents played. I've eaten since then. Here's my power rankings:

1.Hungary Hungry Hippos
2.Marcy Projects
3.Death Valley Scorpions
4.Manchester Devils
5.Lyon Hippos
6.Wicklow Warriors
7.Vallencia Galleons
8.Brasil Destroyers
9.Leavenworth Inmates
10.Loch Ness Monsters
11.Munich Owls
12.Wichita Wild
13.Dublin Warriors
14.South Yorkshire Thrashers
15.Boston Packers
16.Amsterdam Slashers

I'm flattered by the rankings... unfortunately (using the system the Alpha ranker uses) it didn't pan out like that for us:

1 Marcy Projects 154.13
2 Hungary Hungry Hippos 147.76
3 Death Valley Scorpions 141.32
4 Manchester Devils 131.59
5 Lyon Hippos 115.54
6 Wicklow Warriors 113.72
7 Brasil Destroyers 100.07
8 Valencia Galleons 94.26
9 Loch Ness Monsters 94.23
10 Leavenworth Inmates 78.26
11 Munich Owls 59.68
12 Wichita Wild 54.51
13 Boston Packers 35.82
14 Dublin Warriors 28.20
15 Amsterdam Slashers 25.48
16 South Yorkshire Thrashers 25.38

do you guys want to share the formulas you guys are using...maybe we can somehow use a combination of the two as i'm sure both have their strengths and weaknesses.

it looks like the first rankings are based mostly on w-l% and opponents w-l%, this is a good formula for later in the season, and with established teams. the second one uses 3 different formulas together, including w-l% and opponents %. In the end, the team that wins get the ranking.......

I'm not sure about the one the Alphas are using, but mine was a combination of wl%, wl% of opponents, point margin, opponent point margin, and then point margin vs. opponent point margin. The Hungary Hippos end up at the top of mine because they are undefeated and of the undefeated teams, they have played the toughest schedule to date. Then of the 3-1 teams, the one with the toughest schedule (Lyon Hippos) to date cycles to the top. Then the 2-2 teams and so on. I think mine is a little better just because it has the Amsterdam Slashers at the bottom, and they are the only team in the conference to NOT have a TD yet. How could anyone be ranked below that? Accuracy of any power rankings, including those used by ESPN and others will gain accuracy and reflect the true team rankings better as the season progresses. Both ranking systems are pretty close, I just didn't find one for the Zeta conference and felt like trying my hand at it with my own formula.

Maybe we could add a coaches poll to this too since we have the computer poll

that works too...who wants to handle the coaches poll?

Nice job guys, both rankings are very interesting.

Looks like the game of the week in Zeta Week 5 is Lyon Hippos vs. Death Valley Scorpions. Should be a great battle!

definitely a HUGE game and it appears we are pretty evenly matched...may the best man win.

actually, these next 3 games are brutal...going against 3 undefeated teams back-to-back-to-back. gonna find out what my team is made up of real fast...

I can do it if Coaches just send me their picks 1-8 on off game days I will tabulate the points and put up the picks sometime before the games start.
