Should my players 1st AEQ be +5% hold block or +1 Protector SA? Or if none of these, what AEQ piece should he invest in?

Ultimately you'll need a minimum of these three pieces

Hold Block %
Hold Block %
Protector

The order you put them on in is not really that relevant, but I agree with the above and suggest that Hold Block% first would be more helpful.

Mandyross....would you go for these 3 pieces only now, and multitrain more, or are you in favor of getting the 4th piece of AEQ for LOTs

This is the key question for me and I am unsure of the answer.

For what it's worth though, I'm only going to put those three pieces on my LT with exactly this reasoning: so I can continue to multitrain longer. This way I know I can get my base attributes up to reasonable levels: Speed 74+, Vision around 65, Confidence around 70.

I know I am sacrificing a SA and +3 in an attribute, but it is not such a big hit at LT if you have protector sorted and are splitting your equip in Strength and Agility anyway. There is a big difference between multi training attributes and light training them as long as you stay in control of your cap order to be able to multi effectively.

This advice is only for a T though. For a C I'd still run with 4 AEQ (all strength oriented), for a G also. The G I have on the Heat will only make it to 3 though I think as I experimented a bit and put quite a few BT into his build early on to push strength up. Overall though, I am still pondering the tradeoffs and am too lazy to use the player builder to sort it out properly.

I can see 4 pieces of AEQ for a Center, with Line General added.
But not sure for a G. %HB+%HB+Get low are the key ones for me. Pancake, meh. A pass blocking one?

Your guy on the Heat is a beast

I would try to get 4 pieces if you can. Hell, go for a 3rd piece of hold block %.
