A widespread issue we have had in the past, and continue to have, is teams in the World League intentionally gaming the recruiting system in order to put the best dots possible on their teams. Among the things we have seen are:
1) Teams releasing loyal dots that have played on their teams for many seasons in order to add double-stacked AEQ beasts.
2) Teams linking to the World League trophies on their teams home page as a way to lure the best dots away from teams in lower leagues.
3) Like #2, but teams promising their recruits a chance to compete against the best dots and coordinators in the game.
4) Securing the 8th seed or higher thereby staying in the World League and denying other teams a chance to experience the joy of the WL forums.
These practices have in the past been not policed and have allowed for teams to wind up staying in leagues they do not belong in (I am looking at you Halifax). This ruins a lot of the fun for many GLB users and agents and is not something we are going to continue to allow or condone. I personally have decided to take a proactive approach to this problem and will be closely monitoring teams in the World League and taking ANY and ALL necessary action to remedy this problem. This includes actively recruiting players to the Sumatra Sea Hawks in OPL to keep them from the World League, and as a last resort I will send links to horse pron to the particular WL owner and pm block him so he cannot respond.
Regarding #4 - it's not something we can take action on for past actions, but if we see teams doing it this season, we will do something about it.
While I am doing my best to find every team that is gaming the recruiting system, chances are I will miss some. If you see a team that you believe is doing this, please send me a message and I will investigate it. I will not respond back to the messages, but I assure you I will look into every report sent my way.
This is an official warning to all involved that these types of actions are not allowed and GLB will be taking the necessary action to eliminate/prevent them in the future. If you feel your team was unjustly sent horse pron, please feel free to contact me and I will explain the reasoning behind the naughtiness.
