Warrior General Games

This is a tournament I was thinking of having next season. It will have 16 teams, but I have not decided on the format yet. It will be a invitational tourney and below are the automatic bids in a likely order. Bold means already listed and that spot will be skipped. Gold Winners and runner ups will not be replaced with conference semifinalists. However, if a tournament winner is already listed or a statistic leader is already listed, the second place or second best will get the spot.

Season 17 Gold Winner-
Season 17 AAT Winner- Cascade Surly Goats
Season 17 Gold Runner-Up-
Season 16 Gold Winner- Crackertown Juniors
Season 16 Gold Runner-Up- Cascade
Season 15 Gold Winner- Short Bus
Season 16 AAT Winner- Cascade (replaced with Wood Village)
Season 16 FTW Winner- Short Bus (replaced with AC Surf)
Season 16 Pee Wee Cup Winner- Cascade (replaced with DIRTY INC.)
Season 15 Pee Wee Cup Winner- Deep Throw It
All-Time Winning Pee Wee Team- Short Bus (replaced with Fighting Gamecocks)
All-Time Winning Team of Gold Games- ? (Probably Short Bus, then maybe Gamecocks, not sure who it is after that)
The rest will be my choice of invites of top gold teams or other qualified teams.

So wait, this is a tournament of champions targeting select championships with a bunch of disclaimers to get the FG into a tournament of champions -- correct?

I kid, I kid. I like the sound of it, but I'd make sure all teams playing are going to be competitive, CEQ, etc. Now, I'm going back to work but first I'm going to go rub one of my championship trophies.

Of course, but I wouldn't do the tourney if I couldn't put my team in. Also, yes, I will not actually send official invites until around the turn of the season. This is just an informal list.

I'd Say have 3 new gold teams fill it in, and 5 playoff gold teams....

Isn't the plan to go no CEQ in Gold next season (at least until playoffs)?

This might not work, but we need another tourney for next season.

How about just a regular tournament? Like the FTW or official was?

I say FTW or PM support for one of us to take over the official peewee tourney or do both. I like the idea of both

Just who are you? LOL You must be new to the PWG community. This movement isn't new. Each season it gets renewed, but it will not ever happen unless Bort wants it to happen. Why was PWG established? It's here so that the BEST teams can compete each game with no CPU crap. The intent was to have the best of the best. If you're going to have a team in Gold, then you're obviously committed to this game. That means you want to win, and flex cost probably isn't a true concern, at least not for the first few seasons. Having a +6/+15 advantage across the board is HUGE, and if you want to win, then you better have it because rest assured your opponent will. If you're coming to Gold, you're coming here to win. You boost and CEQ because you're here to win.

With the new teams coming into Gold each season and a few teams always being on the cusp of getting to the top from last season, I don't think you'll ever see Gold truly go non boost/non CEQ. There have already been new teams say they're going to boost and CEQ. Face the facts.

As for me personally HAVING to CEQ/boost. LOL I don't HAVE to do anything. DSBM was always a team that favored CEQ and boosting, but I don't believe we ever had a team that was close to 100% of both. We usually staggered boosts and required CEQ on key positions. When we got to Gold, the number of dots doing both increased so we could compete, but we were still never 100%. We did make a league championship, so don't give me any shit. We've always been as competitive as we wanted to be -- we just grew tired of the work and the cost of being in Gold so we merged with DTIT and then decided to go back to Silver. We're not coming back unless the cost goes down -- it's just not worth it to us nor is it as much fun.

So, as I originally said, don't hold your breath on Gold being non-boost/non-CEQ. As for us, we won't have either, and we'll be happy to scrimmage you whenever you want.
