Well, we finally got enough weeks to get an accurate result from the spreadsheet and now the rankings are Official!

--------------------------------------------

I give credit to Moontayle for these rankings as he gave me the equation to set it up. Here is his disclaimer as well...

My Power Rankings rely heavily on your overall record and what you've done recently. These rankings have been retooled from Season 2 to include a modifier for Margin of Victory that is weighted against the records of the team you played. So while conducting a 20 point win over a team with a winning record will do a lot for your Rankings, conducting an 80 point win against a team at the bottom of the league won't do anything, if at all.

Looking forward to it, but (win or lose) I don't expect anything other than a good game.

Sorry hombre, the numbers don't lie. We (MMJ) lost to an undefeated team too and it shot us down quite a bit as well. If you don't appreciate it, don't read it. Bye bye.

I guess I didn't post it in this one, but in the other ones I stated that it will get more and more accurate as weeks go on. It uses win percentages of teams you are playing to create a strength of schedule scenario and as time goes on, those numbers will get more accurate. It should start looking better over the next week or so. Give it a few more games.

The top 6-8 teams are probably the top teams, I am not sure they are in the correct order though. The undefeated teams are going to start playing each other very soon and that will help sort out the mess at the top. There will be a mess in the middle and at the bottom for a very long time.

Yeah, it takes a while for this to sort itself out. First, the problem between the two divisions, if they are of different strengths. Also, teams with undefeated records will rank higher than those that lost games, even if they played all easy matches. I'm glad to see us rise from rank 20 in week 2 to rank 8 now though

I'd give the Hoard a 3:1 or 4:1 favor in winning the game even though they're both at the top. To start, the Hoard's average starter level is above 13.5, while the Fighting Sura's is 10. The Hoard has a better kicking game too, when it comes down to critical FGs or punts. It'll be the Fighting Sura's first game of the season against a team with a winning record, so we'll see if they can pull it off.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, it will probably be our undoing. You have a very talented team too, you were unlucky and probably played the highest level team in the league in week two.

Oh yeah. I'd say that's about right as well (3:1, 4:1). I understand that these rankings are both informal and not going to be that accurate until the playoffs get closer, as we'll have more numbers to gauge the strengths of each team. Levels aren't everything, but if both teams have players with equally good builds, it certainly can be.

Our game planning will have to be solid (mixed in with a lot of luck) to keep this one close, let alone eek out a win (did I mention we'd need some luck?). I expect us to be a lot stronger next season than this, as our agents have all known each other for a few years and have players on other teams to learn from their earlier mistakes. Frankly, I'll be happy with a playoff spot at the end of the year, and don't expect to win every game... especially ones vs the stronger teams in the league. (That is, at least not this season.) Although we have a few players that will be free mid-season that we plan on picking (no super high levels - my players that are higher are remaining on the other two teams I plan on/help coach), but they'll help us round out the team fairly well.

My main goal is to make sure that we game plan well for every game, and have fun doing so, losses and wins aside.
