Back by popular demand, and because I tend to be up this late anyway . . .
15-1 for W3.
Prophecy over QCBC 52-28
It's not as if Queen City has played badly thus far, but to beat Mayan you need to bring the big guns. It's doable (I mean, Mayan is 1-2 right now), but can QCBC win a shootout?
D9 over Sea Wasps 85-18
Sea Wasps haven't played a whole ton of D so far this season. D9 are p good.
HHWC over Smurfs 44-31
Two solid teams trying to prove they're for real. Might be the most interesting game of the week.
So Cal over LOL 43-36
LOL is looking to rediscover their offense following a disappointing loss to Rosarica. So Cal brought the heat against HHWC but ultimately couldn't slow the Wife Carriers down. Game could have playoff implications as both teams are looking at a 6-8 seed scenario.
Nashville over CSII 66-20
CSII is struggling, and while Nashville couldn't crack the Hali defense they're the clear favorite.
Hali over Parma 91-16
Not too tough a pick.
Sin City over DotA 32-14
Sin City is looking like a legit contender for an Alpha playoff spot, and while DotA got a lot of preseason hype and have looked solid so far, I think they're still a season away from having the offense to beat a team of Sin City's caliber.
Kai over Rosarica 48-10
The Rosarica offense has disappeared at times this season, and it will need to come back in a big way for them to knock off the Kai. I believe it will be a relatively low-scoring game, but the Kai ultimately prove too much for blazz's crew. Plus, they have bad karma from ruining my week three 16-0.
Gunny's over Krungthep 39-7
Krungthep's early-season schedule is just ridiculous.
Russian over College Town 66-10
FEEBS. But the Feebs will need to score points to win, and Russian's stingy defense means that's unlikely.
Saigon over Speyside 63-42
Speyside should be taken seriously as a Zeta playoff team--after knocking off Alpine they look to take a crack at (IMO) the current top team in the game. I think they'll put up some points and make a good show of it, but I think Speyside will have to wait for the playoffs to have a real chance at an upset.
Cincinnati over Korb 68-10
Cincy does dotball well. Korb hasn't looked bad, but they haven't really challenged anyone except the Feebs, either.
Blaze over Alpine 63-36
Alpine has been one of Zeta's more disappointing teams so far, as despite being immensely talented they haven't been able to get past Speyside/Osaka. Still, they have a potent offense, and while the Blaze have to be the favorite a couple of picks could spell a Mayan-style upset.
Indy over Osaka 37-31
GOTW, imo. I can't really figure out either team yet, so this prediction is pretty much a random guess. Both teams already have a signature win and a loss to an elite team--I'm expecting a hard-fought, evenly-matched game.
Lincoln over Carthage 33-28
People ignore Carthage at their own peril--the Clash gave Cincy all they could handle last week, and their combination of tough HBs and a stout D means that if Lincoln isn't careful this could be an upset.
Moose Jaw over Monowi 34-24
The Streak ends as Sunshine calls 52 straight Shotgun Draws in celebration.
