Lake Opeta Legionnaires VS. Wallachia Wamphyri:
Well as expected the Legionnaires showed no mercy to the Redhorns in round one! They had 3 HBs go for over 100 yards in what might be thought as an intimidation tactic for this rounds match up with the Wamphyri. Wallachia found themselves in a tough battle with the Storm where both teams actually had the exact same number of total yards... but they won the turnover battle and eventually the game!! This is one of those games that could be interesting.. the Wamphyri are the only blemish on LOL's regular season record! I'd expect Wallachia to be highly motivated with the hopes of playing giant slayer again today.. but I think the Legionnaires will be looking for a little bit of payback in this one.. I'll take the Legionnaires with their silver plated swords to slay the Wamphyri today!
Somali Pirates VS. Cybertron War Machine:
The Pirates racked up nearly 600 yards of offense in round one while they were out deep sea fishing (apparently they caught some).. while the War Machine was showing that they can actually pass the ball.. while quarantining the Cagliari Outbreak! This is a different kind of plague that the War Machine faces today though.. Somali might run the ball (led by OMVP front runner Lane West) but these drunken pirates can make you pay with their passing jugg-ernaut OMG all game long! The War Machine will need to try to grind out the yardage and the clock in they want to keep this one closer then the regular season game where they got torched for 470 yards in the air.. I'll take these rum swillin' land haters today!!

Elephant Conference:

Carthage Mad Clash VS. The Dead Presidents:
TDP is the only team in elephant to pull off the first round upset (I'll admit it.. I didn't pick it either).. while Carthage was doing what they've been doing all season.. complete destruction! We all know about the Clash and their fancy 600 yards/game of offense.. their QB Holy War was second in the conference in passing.. his two favorite targets were #1 & #2 in receiving yards in the conference.. and two of their HBs were #3 & #4 in the conference.. yes they can score.. the bigger question today is can TDP score with them. The Presidents held the Clash to their lowest point total of the season... so I believe they can slow them down.. now it's up to haole and Bomber085 to make the magic happen. I still have to take the Clash today as I think they're destined for the championship game!
WINS vs SoA:
I know.. once again the game we've all been waiting for!! Okay... maybe not all of us but at least I know that Panda, Redass Ranch, KMM and myself have been waiting for this one. Both of these teams just went out and took care of business in round one as SoA was paying back ICB for costing them the #2 seed.. WINS was showing the White Rhinos that they can run the ball and the clock!! These two teams are nearly mirror images of each other (we'd be the better looking image though
) They combined during the regular season to average 42 passing attempts per game.. they both averaged more rushing attempts then that individually.. WINS has the second fewest missed tackles in the conference.. Sons.. third fewest.. almost all of the stats are just that close! That's probably why their week 6 match up was 27-25.. I expect a battle.. and both teams win or lose will end this one battered and bruised (but Sons will be battered and bruised game planning for Carthage)
