Wow, what a game. If you're into watching exciting games on GLB, go take a look with the "Watch Game" on. Very exciting.

Great game, Bolts. We definitely stole this one. Your offense is very impressive.

I'm kinda torn about this one watching this game has kinda soured me to the way energy and special teams are setup. The fact that none of our starters play on special teams and a majority of yours do, was the big difference in this game. We played poorly offensively and still had a shot to win at the end. Don't get me wrong I'm not dissing on your team, your team is good, but taking advantage of the energy settings to start at near midfield every possession is kinda what won the game for you. Watching this has made me petition the admin's to make changes to the way energy and special teams works because there is ZERO reason for your starters not to play special teams if you can effectively manage energy. Anyhow GG, congratulations, hopefully we can play you again in the playoffs.

None of your starters played on special teams? You should tell that to my WR, who lost two consecutive fumbles on special teams by having the ball slammed out of his hands by big hits.

If those aren't your starters, we're very lucky not to have faced them. You're right, though, I'd love to have more control of whether or not starters play on special teams. I think asking Bort for more control over everything is something I can get behind.

We do hope to see you again in the playoffs. We were lucky this time. I was also lucky to catch your second CB boosting before the game and to adjust tactics early. We had planned for a lot more passing, but seeing your levels hop up scared us away from it.

Please elaborate. I'm not seeing what you are saying exactly and don't want to make assumptions.

I don't think he meant that we (the Squirrels) were taking advantage of anything, just that he didn't have any control over who was playing on ST, which meant that backups were trying to stop starters late in the 4th which lead to some good field position.

Very good game Squirrels. You earned that win with solid special teams play. Even with those 2 forced fumbles on punts we still gave you to good field position through out the game.

and no trevgreen those weren't our starters on special teams. That was our backups getting playing time and earning XP.

As for the CB. He was a trade that went through last night, not a boost and it hurt our chemisty in this game I think. But even then we stopped your running game pretty well I thought. And it came down to a blown coverage by my CB that lost us the game.

As for the energy settings, my hats off to you for effectively managing it.

Special teams energy problems in season 3, game 3? You have got to be kidding. Hell Farkistan if anybody would have to deal with energy problems after the Scorpion game? Not understanding this still much less that you would not have rectified this problem 20 games ago. Honestly, not trying to flame, but how do the Bolts of all teams have this problem surface NOW. It seems a frustrated statement about the loss at best. No worries, Bolts are still a home playoff seed team.

edit: this is also where I pimp Randall Kay for midseason all american LB. He better get it this year.

Oh, ok. I had assumed he was a boost. Very good game, we were lucky to come away with it, especially after that 63 yard bomb you put up on us late. Great play on that one... we don't give up many passing TDs.

Strangely enough, we didn't do anything different at all for energy that game. We never really have problems with stamina, though, since we're very stamina heavy. We've had a lot of success with all that stamina in previous seasons, but now we have to go up against bigger competition and it's not nearly as easy with those points in stamina, and not in speed or agility or vision where they would provide the most "per-play" benefit.

No its not a flame or anything like that, your using the system to your advantage well within the confines of the rules. This is however a football simulation game and the use of starting players as special teams players doesn't happen in real football because of concerns of stamina, injury and the desire to develop young talent. Without those concerns there is absolutely no reason not to use starters on special teams, as randall said we are setup to play special teams with non-starting personnel to offer playing time to bench and 3rd string players, but(although I've little control in the situation), I imagine that we will be moving more towards starters playing on special teams, because you can't expect to win giving up nearly 40 yards a kick-off return and 30 yards a punt return.

Well, we're sort of in a special situation. We're all friends from a different game, and we don't worry about who gets however many plays(within reason, of course). We start backups in games we think we can win easily, but ST is too important to just throw the new guys out on the field and expect them to stop the guy with 70 agility and 60 speed from just blowing by them. Furthermore, we have a LOT of stamina on the team, so throwing our guys in on ST doesn't impact who gets what plays that much.

Yeah, and its a great strategy, it definitely had a big impact on the game today. My only problem with it, is that starters don't play special teams in the game this game is supposed to simulate. As it stands now there is no reason to play backups/3rd stringers on special teams cause it has a dramatic(as evident today) dynamic impact upon the game.

Fair enough. Although I like to think our defense was pretty stout to do well on field position and my WR is a competent returner. I know what ya mean, though.

Are you really complaining about playing starters on special teams?
