Lion Conference:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zambezi Silverbacks VS. Pretoria Crusaders:
This is a matchup between two teams really struggling to find their way this season. This looks like a pretty even match up.. and just like every other game they've been in, this one will come down to turnovers.. because they both turn the ball over a lot (17 INTs and 19 fumbles between the two of them so far). I'll give the Crusaders the edge on chemistry alone!

Wallachia Wamphyri VS. Nile Crocodiles:
The Wamphyri are coming off the destruction of the Crusaders and sitting at 3-2 when the Crocs come to town today. Wallachia will be lead into battle by their QB Max Deep who will be firing the ball all over the place against the Crocs.. The Wamphyri have the second most passing yards in the Lion Conference and the Crocs have given up the second most passing yards!! The Wamphyri will be dining on baby croc eggs today!!

Carthaginian War Elephants VS. Ironton Tanks:
CWE is coming off a tough loss to Uganda where they gave up 28 unanswered points in the final 25 minutes of the game to lose by 16 and end their 2 game winning streak. While that was happening the Tanks were busy giving the Pirates much more then they ever wanted, just to fall short by 7 though. This is a sign that these two teams may not be there yet.. but they're playing the top teams in the conference tough!! If the Tanks can hold onto the ball and grind this game out (since they average over 47 rushing attempts per game) they could get a W.. but a word of warning for Gonzo and Tomlinson.. the War Elephants can lay the wood (2nd most FFs in the conference).. I'll take the CWE stomp today (and some nachos please!)..

Massawa Redhorns VS. Lake Opeta Legionnaires:
It looks like the Redhorns have decided to play dotball a little earlier in the season then usual.. welcoming the Death Squad and Hellfish to APL the last couple of games! But now it's time to find out how focused they are as Hokie brings his Legionnaires to Redhorns Stadium! LOL is kind of a rollercoaster right now every other game they really take care of business.. the ones in the middle they stuggle a little bit.. good news for the Redhorns is that LOL destroyed the Death Squad last game.. so this could be a down game.. or not!! The Legionnaires will turn the Wadi Laba River red with the blood from the Redhorns!!

Nairobi Death Squad VS. Cybertron War Machine:
The Death Squad is coming off of a couple tough losses in a row when The War Machine rolls into town! The War Machine is coming off of a tough loss to Kenya and really need to turn it back on if they want to be considered one of the top teams in Lion! But who needs this one worse and a win will bring the Death Squad back to .500? Nairobi struggled against the powerful running game of LOL and I think they will against Cybertron as well.. this game will be all ground and pound.. with the War Machine running the show!!

Kenya Diggits VS. Cagliari Outbreak:
Congrats to Kenya on popping their APL cherry (3 pick 6s will help you do that) but this week you get the Outbreak and their 3 headed rushing attack. Cagliari has been running through the Lion conference so far (literally running through it with 51 attempts/game) and the Diggits have given up the 3rd most rushing yards this season.. that usually spells disaster as I can see Kenya "digging" themselves a hole in this one! Outbreak will improve to 5-1

Somali Pirates VS. Fulham Flying Hellfish:
The Pirates finally got slowed down last week.. but they still came out with a victory.. while the Hellfish were getting a taste of what the Redhorns can do when focused! The Hellfish are just above .500 but this game won't keep them above it.. as the Pirates and OMG have been torching defensive backfields all over Africa!! The Pirates will steal some Hellfish booty and sail back to Somali with another victory!

*Lion Game of the Week*
Sahara Storm VS. Uganda Silverbacks:
This is definitely a great game to watch this week.. two teams sitting at 4-1 both trying to remain amongst the elite in Lion! Last years version of these Silverbacks were absolutely no match for the Storm.. but this isn't the Silverbacks Light team at all. They've gotten better and come to play every week. The Storm were the natural choice at the beginning of the season having only lost to the eventual league winner D9 it seemed a foregone conclusion that the Storm would take over that top spot.. but Rocky & Co. haven't been able to get that offense firing on all cylindars yet and that could spell trouble for them here! But my gut says that while the Silverbacks are a home playoff team.. they aren't at home and they'll have touble getting off the ground in the Eye of the Storm today.. I'll take Sahara in a defensive battle!!
====================================================================================
Elephant Conference:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kicking Djibouti VS. Angola Blood Diamonds:
I hate overinflated stats from CPU teams.. it gives me less to go on with match ups like this! This is one of those games that could go either way.. it's really going to depend on can Kickin keep the LaRock DEs off of their QB? If they can do that.. then they shouldn't have a problem winning this game.. I'll take Kickin by 14..

Platypi VS. The Dead Presidents:
Enjoy another stat padder TDP.. but be ready.. the road gets much bumpier very soon.... your next 6 games will tell us a lot more about the money machine...

Windhoek White Rhinos VS. Ratels:
Good news Rhinos.. welcome back to .500 yet again (you guys are on a fricken' roller coaster ride)

Carthage Mad Clash VS. Ivory Coast Breakers:
It appears that after a week 1 stumble the Breakers have gotten things going in the right direction stringing together 4 wins in a row!! Bad news is that Carthage has rolled out the red carpet for you (which you would think sounds like a good thing but these guys are some sneaky bastards)! Today you get the opportunity to shut down an offense that averages over 700 yards per game!! All I can do is wish you the best...

The African Predators VS. Darfur Depopulators:
Well it appears that the Predators haven't lost their teeth after all.. but it's definitely time for them to string together a few wins to get back in the mix! The Preds will roll the farm team just like everybody else has... enjoy the nachos while you're there..

RoZ Quickstus VS. Kiev Dynamos:
The Quickstus have been taking care of the teams that they are supposed to so far this season.. which will keep them in the playoff mix... but I just don't see them being strong enough yet to compete at the top.. while last season that was the roll that the Dynamos played! Unfortunately Kiev lost something along the way and it looks like they're struggling to figure it out this season. I'll take the Quickstus to defend The Studium (no that is not a type-o) and sneak through this week with a 6 point win...

GRiTS VS. Swaziland Dachshunds:
This is definitely one of the more important match ups this week! For RJ, Brutus and all of GRiTS this is a must win game (okay maybe it isn't a must win.. but it's damn important).. while Swazi would like to give GRiTS a little payback for their Season 14 boot out of the playoffs! I just don't see this being a great match up for GRiTS these little ankle biters are just plain nasty on defense.. I'll take Swazi by 7 (and there will be a pick6 in there somewhere)...

*Elephant game of the Week*
Windsor (+other places) which are now all @Santorini VS. SoA:
I hate having to make SoA as part of the game of the week.. but P@nda, RR & Co. are sitting at 4-1 when the Sons come to visit Caldera Bowl! Which of course makes this a pretty important match up. The Nobles have been having a solid season.. I don't think the Nobles have been tested yet (at least by any of the APL Vet teams).. so on behalf of the Sons of Anubis and all of APL.. welcome! My only prediction for this game is that Santorini will give up it's first passing TD of the season! OH.. and thanks for the Bobblehead
