1) I'm afraid that if I put anyone else at #1 that the fans of GLB would revolt. Rioting would occur in the streets, cars overturned, stores looted, fires started and Grinch would truly steal Christmas. No, I can't do that to the world or, most importantly, the world's innocent little children. Therefore, I must put the ppl's champs, D9 as my pick for #1. In the interest of national security, I really no longer have a choice.

2) Nairobi Warthogs. What can I say. If it weren't for my incredible modesty, I would point out that early on I warned that these guys were going to be scary as hell late in the ssn. Well, they have been spreading fears like fires consuming the African plains during the dry ssn. After a 2 game hiccup against the Pred and RR, they've just went on to win 5 in a row, including knocking off 2 of the top teams in Ele. If it weren't for my incredible humility and unfaltering modesty, I'd say I told you so, but those traits preclude me from doing so. Wanna hear something amazing? There very well may be a 4 way time for first at the end of ssn, with all 4 teams sitting at 14-2. Far from a lock to happen, but amazing that it is a legit possibility all the same.

3) Carthage is a great team, and they honestly may be the top team in APL. Hell, I'd be hard pressed to win a debate that they aren't. Of the top Ele teams left, they have the toughest sched remaining, their 3 remaining teams left to play have a combined record of 28-11. My money is on them winning out, but wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they drop 1 either. Having them in the 3rd spot is frankly rather amazing to me.

4) Zambezi Silverbacks just keep winning. that's an overused statement with them. What's new and every bit as accurate is that they are now winning in impressive fashion. Not since the LOL game have they had an exciting game, blowing teams out of the water with apparent ease. This may be a bad sign for D9.

5) I don't know who the fuck to put here. RR was soundly beat by Carthage & the Dachshunds, but took the Hogs behind the woodshed. The Dachshunds did beat them just 2 "weeks" ago, though. so, I'm giving the Dachshunds the spot....RR not making the top 5 is wrong on every level, though too.

There's 6 to 8 teams that can win on any given day in elephant, imo.

SoA is topsy turvy, but on a good day they can hang with any of the top 5.

I'm not sure whom I would have put in the top 5, the playoffs are gonna be very exciting/aggravating/interesting. Tere will quickly be some good teams on the outside looking in. And it may not be the ones we would think.

Somali does too have the 8th p much locked up, Why you hating on Somali????

I completely agree, Forbin. If all the leagues in GLB were as balanced and deep as Ele, we wouldn't be wasting a ton of time on the test server trying to redesign the league structures (when I say "wasting," I mean debating things in circles, not that I necessarily think redesigning the leagues is a waste)

Frankly, quite a few teams got screwed in these rankings...The Hogs, Carthage & Zambezi all have legit cases for being #1. Sahara, RR & the Preds all have very legit bitches about not being in the top 5.

apparently Hays is a huge Rwanda supporter and believes they will claim the 8th. I've always liked Rwanda myself, but they still have your team left and, though I think they'll give you a game, I think Sahara is just too strong...and, somali has the tie breaker over Rwanda. The math just gets in the way of Rwanda taking it, but Hays is thinking with his heart on the matter. Oh, and he was talking about my rankings, of course. I was just being a smart ass.

I know

For what little it's worth, I wanted to put Carthage as #1, but the fans portion of the voting just was so solidly in favor of D9 that it pushed them over the top. On the Hogs, I couldn't put them at 3 or the whole "I told you so" lame ass joke would be even lamer, which would dip it down into the just plain fugly range. That and they're 11-3 in ranked scrims, beat Carthage, Kiev and Dachs the last 3 games and truly deserve some props for that. I may very well switch them up next ranking, but they deserve at least a week here again.
