Going out of town for the day, will be back later on tonight to finish my predictions. For now ill let you see what i've come up with. I have most of the Lion Conference completed and will finish the last 3 writeups tonight when I get back. Sorry Elephant Conference... I will be posting yours early tomorrow.
LION CONFERENCE
Togo Outlaws (1-0-0 W1) VS. Pretoria Pigs (0-1-0 L1)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=2842&team2=2848
Togo came out on top last week vs. solid Congo Chior Boys team. This week the Outlaws face off against the Pretoria Pigs and are looking to increase their record to 2-0. While the Pigs have a few high level players on both sides of the ball, I feel these playmakers just won't be enough to stop Togo. Offensively Pretoria looks like it just has too many mismatches for the Togo D to take advantage of. However, if the Pigs are able to get some quality drives look for their kicking game to come into play. Pretoria has a very solid front 4 on the D-Line, their secondary looks like it may have problelms stopping Togo if they decide to air it out.
Togo over Pretoria 34-10
Texas Armadillos (0-1-0 L1) VS. Congo Choir Boys (0-1-0 L1)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2849
Last week's massacre left the Armadillo's with a big fat ZERO on the scoreboard when paired up agaisnt the Zanzibar Face-Eaters. They now travel to the Congo to challenge the Choir Boys. Granted Texas played a very well assembled Face-Eaters squad, there is a reason they weren't able to even make it worth watching. Texas just have too many rookie players on both sides of the ball to really put a dent into any teams in the conference this year. The Choir Boys are coming off a close loss to the Togo Outlaws and really showed the conference what theyre capable of on the ground. Expect another big day for the Choir Boy's HB's.
Texas drops to Congo 0-45
Botswana Bushmen (0-1-0 L1) VS. Pretoria Pittbulls (0-1-0 L1)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=2854&team2=2844
The Bushmen lost in a heartbreaker last week to the Ethiopia Devils and look ready to bounce back hard when they square off against the Pretoria Pittbulls. Danish GM HeinzMooser is still trying to recruit players from Denmark (they're obviously the best footballers outside of North America), but he's still got a long way to go. Unfortunately the Pittbulls still have too many holes that CPU's, regardless of level, will not be able to plug up. The Bushmen put up a great aerial assault last game, but look for them to try and mix in the run this week. Pressure on the QB this game may see some forced throws and a few interceptions by the Bushmen secondary.
Botswana over Pretoria 38-0
Impending Doom (1-0-0 W1) VS. Zanzibar Face-Eaters (1-0-0 W1)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=2853&team2=2851
Well Doom...you warned me. You called me out and showed up to play last week in a 27-9 win over Ivory Coast. The Doom will certainly have their hands full this week as they take on the Zanzibar Face-Eaters. While the Doom were able to move the ball around against the Wildcats, I don't see them having any success doing so this week. Zanzibar has a clear advantage on the defense, and will likely shutdown Imdending's offensive unit. ID doesn't match up well defensively with the Face-Eaters either. I think pressure on the Zanzibar QB will be minimal. Although owner GeauxSaints53 of Zanzibar opted to run a balanced offense last week, I think he may decide to pass just a bit more and challenge the Doom's linebackers and secondary a bit.
Doom drop to Zanzibar 44-9
Ivory Coast Wildcats (0-1-0 L1) VS. Djibouti Jackals (0-1-0 L1)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2856
What happened 'cats? Thats ok, I still have some faith in you...some...
After losing last week to Impending Doom, you can be sure that Ivory Coast owner Empran and company are reviewing and retooling their tactics. Game two vs. the Djibouti Jackals will be a good opportunity to try out their new schemes. Credit to the Jackal's defense who was able to hold Niger to only 16 points last week, but that doesn't change the facts. Djibouti is another low level team that still has a long way to go before it will be able to contend with the rest of the league. Breaking .500 at this point will be a miracle. The Wildcats offense should be able to take advantage of Djibouti's weaknesses at most every position in their defense... pancakes-a-plenty. With only one player on the offense above level 4, I would imagine seeing a whole lot of blitz from Ivory Coast this game. Look for big numbers out of the Wildcat's defensive line and linebackers.
Ivory Coast over Djibouti 31-0
Tanzania Morning Wood (1-0-0 W1) VS. Zimbabwe Tigers (1-0-0 W1)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=2857&team2=2845
This matchup features two winners from game one of the season. Today Tanzania will travel to Zimbabwe to do battle with the Tigers. Both of these teams have great offenses, each blowing out their opponents last week by a combined score of 128-7! Although both teams also have pretty well rounded defenses, I expect this game to be a somewhat high scoring affair due to a few mismatches on either side. This game really could go either way, but im gonna pick the Tigers to take home the win, their scary good O line making the difference.
Tanzania drops to Zimbabwe 21-28
Rwanda HellFish (1-0-0 W1) VS. Niger Hitmen (1-0-0 W1)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=2850&team2=2852
The HellFish had one hell of an offensive showing last week in their game against Pretoria and will now travel to Niger to whack the Hitmen. The Hitmen did manage to pull out the "W" last week vs. a mediocre Djibouti Jackals team, but the HellFish are no pushovers. In last week's game vs. Pretoria, Rwanda's offense wracked up nearly 600 yards (360 of them on the ground). Look for the HellFish to exploit weaknesses in the Niger offensive line and stop their D line dead in its tracks. Maybe next time Niger.
HellFish over the Hitmen 28-9
Uganda Hawks (0-1-0 L1) VS. Ethiopia Devils (1-0-0 W1)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=2843&team2=2847
Uganda travels to Ethiopia this week to try and steal a victory from the Ethiopia Devils. Uganda's last game ended in disappointment as the Hawks were absolutely thrashed by the Tigers in an 86-0 blowout. While they have managed to replace all of their CPU starters with human bodies, they are just too low to compete with Ethiopia. The Hawks backfield will more than likely be under pressure all day from the Devil's D and will be unable to drive downfield for even a field goal. Meanwhile Ethiopia will just tear through anything Uganda's D can throw at them. Sorry Hawks... another blowout
Uganda drops to Ethiopia 0-49
