Its almost like these predictions are always accurate during the first few weeks. They must have nerfed the script....

They take preseason into account which is their flaw.

I do and will take preseason into account until week 4. Until then the rankings dont have enough data to really get a feel for teams and are even less accurate. Thats why I use preseason and weight the regular season games to be worth twice preseason games and then take the preseason out entirely when theres enough regular season games.

I wasnt attacking the system at all. I've been around long enough to understand. Often they are left in even longer. You have to have something to get results on, they just skew those results. But somewhat informative is better than nothing at all. I really do appreciate the effort of you doing these.

Yeah I generally like to have 6 weeks of data for the rankings but I cut out at 4 since I dont like having the preseason games factored in. Bottom line is if teams want to be higher early in the season then they shouldnt fuck around in preseason No excuses, play like a champion.

The fact still remains that until you get 8-10 games into the season you really can't have good data because of how much of a gap there is between the really good teams and the really bad teams. My team, the Wrightstown Tigers were ranked #3 in this particular ranking but I don't believe we are the third best team. You rank us after we've faced some of the best teams like Fat Jaws and then you'll see probably where we really stack up. If most of the teams were fairly close in their skill levels it would be a different story.

I still appreciate someone taking the time to put this together! It makes it a little more fun in this godawful forum

I dont know why you are trying to argue that they arent accurate. Im well aware. These are just a script thats run and posted for forum activity. The alternative to satisfy the crowd of "they arent accurate yet" would be not to post them at all until later in the season. These are never very accurate early on and that hasnt changed since roughly season 6 when I first started seeing the ranking scripts.

Sorry man - I wasn't trying to argue with you I was more or less agreeing with you but putting a different spin on it. I was also thanking you for putting it together. Sorry if I didn't state it very well!
