Uganda SilverBacks VS. Sahara Sand Storm:
This match up is going to have two of the new comers to APL going head to head.. the SilverBacks look to have a solid team and I'm sure they are happy to see another new comer as opposed to an APL vet.. but S3 is waiting at the Oasis with it's 16 game win streak in tow.. and it's no mirage.. they'll have that gold trophy on display for sure! My question for both teams is do you have enough depth to deal with the changes to stamina and morale... I'll pick S3 in this one.. but if the SilverBacks start to where down S3s LBers then I will be wrong in a big way!! S3 by 7
Pretoria Crusaders VS. Somalia Warlords:
The Crusaders are coming off a very successful season in AAA only losing one game in the regular season before being overcome by some Black Magic in the conference championship game! They're first game in APL will be against a Warlords team that is in the midst of transition.. last season was a trying one with more losses then the Warlords care to remember.. a change in ownership.. and hopefully for them some new vigor (but you guys might want to lay off the porn on game day) (see stadium name if you didn't get that one).. I think the Crusaders will be happy with their inaugural game in APL as the Warlords just don't look to have the depth and a lot of youth right now. I'll take the Crusaders by 13...
Ironton Tanks VS. Pirgos Warlords:
The Tanks have made their way to APL.. but I should warn you.. the welcoming committee that's waiting for you, Pirgos Warlords, is not a friendly bunch (although very quiet and polite in the forums) they have one purpose in Week 1.. complete destruction.. and the bad news for Ironton.. I think they're going to beat the tracks off you!! Warlords by 55
Bamako Black Magic VS. Angola Blood Diamonds:
And again.. two more rookies to APL get lucky and draw each other in week one.. yes Vegas even though you have a long history in APL, I still count you as a rookie! The Black Magic are hoping to make some APL noise this season.. fresh off their conference championship and look to have a solid team! I'm sure that ABD wasn't planning on being here until next season.. but they've always been scrappy and I'm sure they're working as hard as anybody already.. this one could be close.. but I think the Black Magic are about to do something creepy to ABD.. I'll take the Magic by 17
Rwanda Headhunters VS. Uganda Mounties:
This is litterally two team heading in different directions.. while the Headhunters have come competing for playoff games.. the Mounties have been taking their lumps for the past couple seasons... but this season those tides have changed. This season the Headhunters are working on rebuilding and bringing in some youth, but they definitely lack the depth to hide the younger dots.. while the Mounties are about to hit their stride.. I didn't predict many Mounties victories last season.. but I can pick them now! Mounties by 38
Zambezi Silverbacks VS. Ivory Coast Breakers:
The Silverbacks started out last season with a viscious welcome to APL tour losing 6 of their first 8 before turning things around... while ICB was busy "coasting" through AAA ball... they were pretty much unchallenged and we'll find out soon enough if that lures them into a false sense of stardom! I'm going to take the "old" Silverbacks (is that repetative) in a close one here.. ZS by 6
Nigeria Nightmares VS. Swaziland Dachshunds:
The Nightmares just kind of rolled through last season.. beating who they were supposed to beat... but also losing games that they weren't favored in.. and this season looks like they've brought in the youth they were waiting for.. bad news for the Nightmares is they got really young.. while the Dachshunds are looking like a strong contender for the top of the Elephant conference! The Dachshunds are known for being a great defensive team (they only gave up 30 or more points 3 times last season) and I wouldn't expect anything less then a shutout here to start the season! Swazi by 28
Lake Opeta Legionnaires VS. Nairobi Warthogs:
LOL is back in APL (welcome back) but you're still rookies this season and you're welcome to APL tour starts now! The Nairobi Warthogs tried to fly under the radar last season but there will be none of that this year.. this is a strong team that just keeps getting better.. they will be in the mix of home field position in a Elephant Conference that is stacked! I expect nothing less then the Warthogs by 48
Carthaginian War Elephants VS. Rhodesia Ratels:
This one should prove to be a very interesting! The War Elephants proved that they were a strong team in the their inaugural APL season and now look to prove that they are a top team. While the Ratels were a bit of a roller coaster last season.. just missing the playoffs in Elephant (though they probably would have been playoff bound anywhere else).. It's kind of funny how quiet and reserved one owner is and how not quiet and reserved the other owner can be (when present).. I think I'll go with speak softly and carry a big tusk.. CWE by 9
Massawa Redhorns VS. Kiev Dynamos:
The Jackals.. errr.. Redhorns come into season 15 hoping to get out of the gates a little faster (okay a lot faster) then they did last season.. I just hope they didn't spend too much time working on their team name and logo (they obviously didn't put much time into their stadium name) instead of their game plans.. the Dynamos on the other hand got out of the game fast in S14 going undefeated in the regular season before running into a Sand Storm that was very anti-dynamic.. now their in APL looking to prove themselves.. unfortunately I don't see this one going your way.. dsl20 will have the troops ready to ram you with their new mighty red horn.. Jackals by 20
Somalia Pirates VS. Mauritius Mountain Lions:
The Pirates sailed their way to a S14 Conference trophy.. before getting rolled by ICB in the league championship game.. and you have wonder how long it's been since they've had to game plan.. while the Mountain Lions were taking their licks in the first APL season! Now I'm sure they'd like to show the Pirates how that feels. I'll say the Mountain Lions pounce on the unsuspecting Pirates.. by 3
Sahara Sand Monsters VS. Carthage Mad Clash:
The "Other Sahara" had a tough first season in APL... only getting 4 wins.. but they spent the time learning about their opponents, now the question is can they apply what they learned last season.. meanwhile over in Elephant the Clash were busy doing damage and making noise.. unfortunately they tripped up against GRiTS and find themselves looking for that elusive APL hardware.. but there something different about this Clash team.. this season they came back "mad" literally!! I think their first example this season will be the Sand Monsters.. Clash by 45
PHP VS. Kickin Djibouti:
PHP is loaded..... with CPU players.. and I don't think anybody is happier about that then Kickin right now.. a team that in S14 was known for it's high powered passing offense.. lead by Jules Winfield and his gay cowboy Jack Twist... unfortunately for Kickin Jules is a money hungry primadonna (why else would he be playing in the Lion Conference) and their young replacement hasn't looked like he's quite ready for the speed of APL... they'll gladly take this win and move on!
Cybertron War Machine VS. The African Predators:
The good news for CWM is they have arrived!! The War Machine is coming off a solid three loss season before succumbing to a Pirate ambush in the playoffs!! The bad news is their first guest at Primus Stadium is the very dangerous Predators.. I'm sure that CWM will scratch and claw and do anything else that they can think of to make sure they're in every game.. the bad news is King of Bling's team is built to scratch and claw (get it because their mascot is a Lion)! CWM get's their "official" welcome to APL.. Predators by 48
Sahara Storm VS. MaRawk!! o (what the hell is the o for):
The Sahara Storm were the surprise story in APL last season.. only losing 3 games in the regular season (2 of them to the top 2 seeds for the playoffs).. they showed that not every new team in APL is to be treated like a welcome mat (but we'll still continue to treat this seasons teams that way.. that story was just to give all of you a glimmer of hope so the Vets enjoy bursting your bubble that much more).. MaRawk had yet another solid season in AAA.. each season they were regarded one of the most talented and loudest teams around.. and they've finally made it over the hump to APL! Congrats on your arrival.. your reward is not something quite as enjoyable.. I can see the Storm brewing.. can you? SS by 17
*District 9 Prawns VS. Sons of Anubis:*
*Game of the Week Hands Down*
You had to have known before you read the first line in this post that the last game you were going to read about was this one.. this is the week 1 match up that made both teams go.. SHIT.. REALLY?!?! D9 comes into this season as the Vegas favorite to win the Lion Conference (that's Las Vegas not the ABDVegas). With their nemasis now moved on to WPL the Shrimpies are looking to take over the title of Lion Conference bully! The Sons of Anubis on the other hand.. are more of blue collar team.. they don't blow many teams away.. they just come in and try to take care of business and then go on their way. I can tell you that this one is going to be a true battle.. both teams will leave black and blue.. and since those are the team colors of SoA... that must give them the edge! SoA by 1
This match up is going to have two of the new comers to APL going head to head.. the SilverBacks look to have a solid team and I'm sure they are happy to see another new comer as opposed to an APL vet.. but S3 is waiting at the Oasis with it's 16 game win streak in tow.. and it's no mirage.. they'll have that gold trophy on display for sure!
