Last week, all the teams ranked higher on the power rankings won, with the exception of the rank 14 - rank 15 game.
The Top Eight
1. London Rippers (LW 1):
London Rippers have a solid win against the Beer, and move on to take on the Rome Gladiators. The Gladiators may have bigger blades, but we have top hats, and they do not. Don't mess with guys in top hats.
2. Buffalo Buffalos (LW 2):
Buffalo proves I was right to give them love in the power rankings as they crushed the Leeds Cougars. They don't have much of a chalenge next game as they get a game versus a CPU team to pad their stats.
3. Vatican Palidans (LW 3):
They blew out a CPU team, as expected. IF they didn't get the blow out, I probably would have dropped them a spot. They face a decent Kilkenny Sidhe next, which should provide a better test.
4. Dublin Fighting Irish (LW 6):
Both of their quarterbacks were amazingly effecient, with both posting a 75% completion percentage versus the highly rated secondary of Tranmere. They impressed me a bit more than Berlin last game.
5. Berlin Stormtroopers (LW 4):
Their yards per pass wasn't too good in their win versus the Shamrocks, but their star RB had 4.7 YPC. Their performance wasn't as good as Dublin Fighting Irish though, so they drop a spot. They will likely take out their frustration at dropping a spot against P-ville this week.
6. DrUnKiN LuNaTiCs Beer (LW 5):
They lost to the Rippers, but that shouldn't be counted against them too much. They have a big matchup against the Dublin Fighting Irish, where they must have a strong showing if they want to stay in the top eight.
7. Rome Gladitors (LW 7):
They won their last game, but it was not a dominating win as they were out gained by 81 yards by BC Crew. As such, I am not ready to move them up a rank.
8. Tranmere Titans (LW 8):
Yeah, they lost, but it was to the Dublin Fighting Irish, a very good team. They have too much talent on the roster for me to demote them at this time.
The others
9. BC Crew
10. Kilkenny Sidhe
11. Dublin Shamrocks
12. Dublin Vikings
13. Leeds Cougars
14. Munich Hofbräuhaus
15. P-Ville Powerhouse
16. Reading Renegades
GAME OF THE WEEK
DrUnKiN LuNaTiCs Beer vs. Dublin Fighting Irish
These two good teams met in the conference semifinals last year. The Beer won that matchup, and they will need to win again if they want to avoid falling to 0-2. Meanwhile, Dublish Fighting Irish will try to prove that their extremely efficent passing game last week was no fluke.
Honerable mention
Rome Gladiators vs. London Rippers
The Rome Gladiators get a chance to make a fool out of the putz that ranked their team 7th.
