I don't want get low or pass blocker penalized. especially for a LG. i do like the spot blitz SA though. sowhatisyougonnado?

I think by combo he means remaining without an archtype, ive been thinking about it and i think i will take an archtype.

Pass Blocker is the first SA in the tree, it probably provides a relatively small (compared to the other pass blocker SAs) bonus so you don't miss that much by penalizing it.
Foundation can be nice, but how much help does a high strength LG need to stand his ground? Does your offense really give up a lot of sacks to the DT or inside blitzers? I think most of the pass rush comes from the perimeter of the line, not the interior.
As far as Spot Blitz goes, I wouldn't bother with it. A "blitz" according to GLB only occurs on passing plays when a defender is pursuing the QB (so it won't activate on runs) and only defenders in the secondary can be considered blitzing, you can't really blitz a DT or DE. So unless your LG faces a lot of 3-4 defenses that don't cover the LG with a DT and that then blitz LBs or safeties right at him, he probably won't use it.

I'm in the same kind of situation with my lvl 50 ish Gs, and decided not to choose an archetype on either of them in the end.

I was in exact same situation but decided to go Run Blocking archtype. The ALGs overall are slightly worse but I wanted the bonus for Pancake.

For a higher-level lineman, is there any penalty to choosing the Special Teamer archetype if you want a balanced O-Lineman but still want to pick a bonus SA? At high levels the auto-level gains don't really matter much.
