Before I get going on my championship game prediction, I have to comment on the 2 conference championship games. Both #1 seeds won, but both games were close. The Stormriders gave the Blood Leopards all they could handle, my apologies, I did not expect that game to be that close. Maybe it was better, after all, to flirt with my endowed classmates during math class, than to pay attention to my geometry teacher as he rambled on about “sine” and his brother “cosine”. The only thing I really remember about geometry class was the perfect circles my teacher would draw on the chalk board. He would draw these circles, free hand, without using that compass thingy, and I swear they were perfectly round. It was weird because the circles would be like 2 foot in diameter. If you don’t think that is weird, you go and try it.
For the much ballyhoo’d other game, I read some comments in regards to the fumble by the Buckeye QB, and how critical that was – and I saw Woody in my head grabbing that player by the facemask and shaking his dome around on the sidelines. I also thought that the play right before that fumble was critical as well. The Buccs CB ran the Buckeye HB down and made a game-saving/ game winning tackle at the 1 yard line. The other problem for the Buckeyes, was the missed FG attempt. Damn kickers. The game could have gone either way, but the Buccs found a way to win in OT, nice job by both teams, and thanks for the epic showdown.
I have a confession to make – check that, two. I am typing this last post in an airport bar, on my brand new laptop. Four college girls just sat down next to me, on their way to spring break, and guess what? One of them is http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=stacked Seriously, she is gorgeous. If only I were 22 again, and rich, and single, and better looking, and less fat, and had cool hair, she could be mine!! Sunovabich shitttttt!! I miss those Damn Dawgs.
Confession #2. I went on this business trip with my peewee team in the silver league playoffs. We had our conference championship game tonight, at 5pm, PST, WE WON!! But that is not the point. I was planning on using the hotel internet to check my team; seeing as how I do not have a laptop, my wife has one, but I don’t. The hotel did not have internet access unless you brought your own laptop. So, I went to the public library here yesterday, and they gave me a 30 minute guest pass. How the hell am I supposed to set my tactics and cool, tricky plays for my playoff game in 30 minutes? Well, I did not finish in the 30 minutes, and that crack-whore of a librarian would only give me the one guest pass. Well, she probably is not a crack-whore, but that was how I felt about her at the time. So, I called my wife, and told her that her laptop was a piece of crap and that she needed a new one. Somehow, I convinced her that this was indeed the case. I went to Best Buy last night and bought my “wife”
a brand new laptop. My GLB habit sinks to a new and financially burdensome low. I need help. Is there a 12 step program for GLB addiction?
Anywho, the championship game should be a good one. I like both teams, but I am going to go with the Buccs. They are somewhat more battle tested this season, and I think that experience helps. This has been a fun season, despite the fact that my team never stood a chance. I learned a lot about what it takes to win against top competition (and of course how to lose in grand fashion). The elite leagues are much more interesting than non-elite leagues, simply due to the fact that there are sooo many good games. Who likes to kick the snot out of CPU teams?? Well, I certainly do, but GLB is mostly fun when teams and owners are active and smack talking is rampant, but not personal. Just remember, it is just a game, and have fun with it.
Regards, Jeremy.
