There were to be no upsets in the semifinals. The favorites both advanced, and Lion conference did get a look at two of their future top contenders in WYB and the Aces a little early.

Somali Pirates vs. Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces

http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1098527

This game went pretty well according to script for the Pirates. They jumped out to an early ten point lead thanks to an insanely smothering effort in the first Quarter, and a big effort from the running game. ACEA had two three and outs to start the ballgame and Somali made them pay with a FG and a Dave Jakowski rushing TD.

In the second, ACEA got back on track defensively holding the Pirates to only 22yards, forced a few three and outs, but this int by W.B Taylor http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1098527&pbp_id=19042859 put somali right in FG range. They scored after a three and out. The Somali Pirates went into the locker room at the half up only 16-3. Teh Aces had to feel decent at this point as the game was not out of hand and if they could manage any kinda offense they would be in this game.

The third quarter saw more great defense from both teams. this quarter neither team scored, and you felt like hey Alexandrai really has a chance.

Well the fourth quarter was a not so fast my freinds momant as the Pirates breached the dam and opened the floodgates. a nice drive finished of with a short TD to start the scoring, the Priates put up three consecutive TDs including this gem from CB Chris Wilkes. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1098527&pbp_id=19044762

Alexandria finished the game up with a pitty TD and Somali moves on to the CCG

Player of the game= W.B. Taylor the FS had 8tkl, 2sacks and 2 int

Cybertron War Machine vs. West Yorkshire Bandits
http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1098528

This game was a bit of a thud. CWM won 52-12, and I knew that could happen, but had hoped that the came would be closer, and really expected it to. the game started off pretty competitve with the two teams swapping FGs, but CWM popped off 4 consecutive TDs and never looked back. Teh domination was caused by something Lion had yet to see from the War Machine a dominant passing attack. The new Recieving corps of the robotic team finally go the chance to display their prowess as CWM added over 300 yards on 21 of 29 passing to their customary 240 yards on the ground. The defense was again opportunistic, forcing 4ints on the game.

Player of the game= Garret Gilbert

Lion Conference Championship Game

Somali Pirates (16-0) vs Cybertron War Machine(13-3)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/compare_teams.pl?team1=473&team2=6417

This seasons CCG features two teams that are no strangers to one another. The two have faced off three times already in the past couple of seasons. Season 13 saw the two face off twice. Cybertron won both matchups. /The regular season game was 41-14, and the machine proceeded to knock off the Pirates in the playoffs as well, this time by a score of 60-16. despite the unhealthy scores, this rivalry is a mutual respect driven force, and a little closer than folks would think. Somali was the likely favvorite in that seson, and CWM was the little engine that could. I think these losses actually helped the Pirates to get to where they are today. I think they took the losses personal, but instead of sulking, or paniking they regrouped, recruited and reloaded and refocused. Today, the Pirates are again the class of the league. They come into this playoffs perfect 16-0 and have exorcized the CWM demon following a win against the machine 44-37.

CWM takes nothing for granted in this rivalry. They have been cognizant of Somalis actions and have taken their own to ensure staying on a level playing field. Can you say arms race?

These two teams are very well matched. Despite the different types of rosters. Somali is a little older and well built. CWM is a little younger and very well put together. I think Somali has the edge currently, but the teams are even enough that this game is going to come down to game plans. The chess match has begun, all of us win by getting to watch the game unfold.

Prediction 27-33 who the hell knows.

Not trying to rub salt Buddy, but I think Somali has this play on the payroll or something.
