I don't have time to do the write-up at this instant. I will get it done later tonight. But go ahead and leave your effusive praise for this game and my write-up to be. This was the only upset (if you can call it that). Next round should have some better games.

I see some have pointed to the Dakar game or the SoCal Game (cuz I mssed them) as better potential write-ups. Hmm... it is the playoffs, so I think each game deserves a little focus. So let's try something different, let me try and hit all the games in one recap.

Game 1: East St Louis Tire Fires vs. Haliblack Rap Esplosion

ESL was the home team, but having lost to Hali earlier in the year and knowing Hali's penchant for turning it on in the playoffs they had to be worried. Let's take a look at the action:

Hali got the ball first and it was Fast Willie Parker who found a hole in the defense and busted through for 43-huge yards:

Nothing doing for ESL when they get the ball. One first down and then a punt. Hali gets the ball back and it is Tossin' Bombs, well, tossing a bomb, to his MVP TE-Ontario Williamson, this one a 65-yard TD and Hali is up by two scores:

ESL, implored on by the home crowd, grinds out a nice drive on their next possession. But it wasn't easy, Higgs boson sacks Jay Bombs Away Cutler here setting up a 3rd and 14.5:

Hali's offense is in post-season form, this 32-yard pass from Bombs to Jamar Bryant has ESL on their back wheel:

ESL is burnt by another sack and have to punt it back to the visitors. Tommy Ciscero does the honors:

The 4th time Hali gets they ball they continue their perfect day scoring their 4th TD. This one a 13-yard connection from Bombs to Williamson:

ESL gets the ball back and does their one-first down and a punt routine which brings down a few boos from the home fans. Then things look even bleaker as the Esplosions drive the field and this 22-yard pass from Bombs to Williamson sets up 1st and Goal at the ESL 2:

But A Slight Breeze catches wind of the play call and picks off this pass intended for Ontario, finally ESL catches a break:

But they can't capitalize on the turnover with points of their own and have to punt. Hali goes three and out and this sack by Chris Horner for Hali was the last notable play before the half:

ESL gets the ball first in the second half. Cutler hits Jerry Screw Ray Johnson for 33-yards to move the ball past midfield:

But ESL catches another break as Hali thought the game was pretty much over and Bombs was chowing on a hot dog on the bench. The mustard stuck to his fingers and caused this pass to be picked off by Stanislaw Zolkiewski who returns it 37-yards giving ESL great field position:

Hali can't get the fire lit under their offense yet and they punt it back to ESL. A 16-yard pass and a 28-yard connection by Cutler to Jonny McCain and Roc Hardwell gets them close inough to kick a FG and it is suddenly and 8-point game:
