Is one tree overwhelming better than the other, no matter what? Or does it just depend which team you are on...

Line general is about the only pass blocking SA I like for a C so I put my CE and points in the run blocking tree. I tend to go after get low first as it seems to be the most popular SA.

yeah most Cs are more run blocking than pass blocking unless you're on a really heavy pass team, but nice to find an AEQ piece for LG, which will likely become even more important with confidence and stamina apparently taking on increased importance.

I hear this all the time. Fact is, your center is no more a run blocker than the rest of the line. The reason he's seen as one is twofold. First, Pancakes -- the singular OL stat. In GLB they are recorded only on run plays. (IRL there is no such distinction. If I had a nickle for every time I witnessed a pancake on pass plays I'd be rich.) Second, the pass tree is almost unnecessary. (LG isn't even necessary. It's very nice though.) How often does a Center get beat when in protect? Almost never. It almost makes no sense to me to put points into the pass block tree. Wish I hadn't.

But LG helps the ENTIRE OL.

I was saying the pass block tree is almost unnecessary, with the exception on LG. Like I said, LG is very nice. It's still not necessary.

(BTW, I edited my initial post to move the parenthesis. I can see how that might have been confusing.)
