Once again, I went 3-1 against my spread, and ran my season record to 41-17. My only loss was the Irish actually beating the Tarheels, not just covering, but winning the game. Well, this is the last game of the regular season, but I will continue to post predictions throughout the playoffs. I must say, the elite league concept has made finding 4 decent match-ups possible. In a non-elite league, it is tough to find 4 good match-ups on a regular basis. You would think, by having 16 games, you could find 4 decent ones -- not true. On a side note -- I have to comment on the KC DD vs Brussels Buckeyes feud currently being waged in the forum. Obviously, both teams are solid, and have great Owners, GMs, and coordinators. I have learned a great deal about GLB this season in this elite league from these two experienced teams, (and others) that I hope you guys can settle things on the dot-field come round 2 of the playoffs. I can't wait to see that one, my guess is yall will be both be game planning, big time.
Game #1. Speaking of the Buckeyes... Buckeyes (13-2) vs Blackrock Reapers (12-3). I somehow think the Buckeyes are going to be ready for this game. They want the #3 seed come playoff time, and will put in the work to make sure they don't just win on talent alone, but win convincingly. I like the Reapers, but I think they are simply overmatched in this game. No "things are looking Grim for the Reapers" jokes here, that one has been played before.
Game #2. Moscow Musketeers (9-6) vs Corona Del Mar Cougars (9-6). This past weekend, I attended a Russian wedding. The maid-of-honor was a smoking hot, young Russian lady; she was a brunette, with smoldering eyes, that looked right through me. She had a smile that made my jaw drop. I must have stared at her for a minute straight during the ceremony, without even realizing I was staring -- thank god my wife did not catch me. The entire ceremony was in Russian, and I understood zilch - except for the fact that the maid-of-honor wanted me, she just did not know that "nyet". Anyway, her boyfriend was a deuche. The Musketeers win this game, because I said so.
Game 3. Chile con carne asada Dogs (12-3) vs Minnesota Mafia (10-5). I have to comment on the Mafia's loss to the Blitz -- really? Did yall take them for granted? What happened? Yall had no business losing to the Blitz -- no offense Blitz -- just being honest. The Dogs hand La Familia another defeat, although this time it is not as bad. The Dogs take a bite out of crime in this game. Sorry, that was horrible.
Game 4. Not really the game of the day, in the sense that there really wasn't an epic game of the day, on this day. But, for this particular day, it may be the best game of the day. So, with no disrespect to other - previous - (and better) games of the day, I bring you the game of the day. Falls City Beavers (10-5) vs SL Blood Diamonds (10-5). Speaking of Beavers, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8nWpBQZueA --- this guy is freaking hilarious, but is not for kids. If you don't go and check out more Louis CK, you are missing out - he is soooooo wrong, but damn is he funny. You know, I am kind of disappointed, here we are, game 16 of the regular season, and I still do not know if Beavers hybernate for the winter. I know they hybernate once they get married, but that is a different subject altogether. My pick -- Beavs, by a bit.
Jeremy out.
