Ok, with my point spreads in play, I still went 3-1 and ran my season total to 38-16. The BS Buccs were very impressive in their shutout of the KC DDs. I thought that was going to be a lot closer than that, obviously I was wrong. Question is, do the KC DDs have an answer come playoff time or are they going to be ousted in the 2nd round of the playoffs by the Buckeyes?
Game 1. KC DD (13-1) vs Hamburg Kraken (10-4). Have the Kraken given up? Have they resigned themselves to the fact that they cannot keep up with the elite teams in this elite league? I actually think they are better than they think they are, but simply aren't motivated to play the season out at 110%. I think the spread in this game should be about 15.5 points, and I will go with the DDs to win this game by 17 points or more. Technically, Denise is carrying much more than DDs, but damn, who cares at that point? Once you get to DD and beyond, it is all http://www.mademan.com/chickipedia/denise-milani/photosgallery/ gravy.
Game 2. TB Tarheels (11-3) vs Dublin Irish (7-7). Last game, I picked the Irish to cover their 6.5 pt spread, they lost by 5. This time, I put the spread at 13.5 points, and the Irish do not cover. The Tarheels place their blackish-back part of their foot on the Irish' throat for about a 19 to 24 point win. I am wondering if the Tarheels can be a Cindarella pick in the playoffs? They have the horses, but can they ride them to the conference finals? I say no.
Interlude --- This is one of my favorite scenes, from one of my favorite movies. This movie has a lot of great scenes, but this one is cool because I take parts of it, tweak it a little, and mess with my kids whenever possible.
King of Swamp Castle: Guards, make sure the prince doesn't leave this room until I come and get him.
Guard #1: Not to leave the room... even if you come and get him.
Guard #2: [hiccups]
King of Swamp Castle: No, no. *Until* I come and get him.
Guard #1: Until you come and get him, we're not to enter the room.
King of Swamp Castle: No, no, no. You *stay* in the room, and make sure *he* doesn't leave.
Guard #1: And you'll come and get him.
Guard #2: [hiccups]
King of Swamp Castle: Right.
Guard #1: We don't need to do anything, apart from just stop him entering the room.
King of Swamp Castle: No, no. *Leaving* the room.
Guard #1: Leaving the room, yes.
King of Swamp Castle: All right?
Guard #2: [hiccups]
Guard #1: Right. Oh, if, if, if, uh, if, if, uh, if, if, if, we... oh, if... oh...
King of Swamp Castle: Look, it's quite simple. You just stay here, and make sure he doesn't leave the room. All right?
Guard #2: [hiccups]
Guard #1: Oh, I remember, uh, can he leave the room with us?
King of Swamp Castle: No, no, no, no, you just keep him in here, and make sure...
Guard #1: Oh yeah, we'll keep him in here, obviously, but if he had to leave, and we were with him...
King of Swamp Castle: No, just keep him in here...
Guard #1: Until you, or anyone else...
King of Swamp Castle: No, not anyone else. Just me.
Guard #1: Just you.
Guard #2: [hiccups]
King of Swamp Castle: Get back.
Guard #1: Get back.
King of Swamp Castle: All right?
Guard #1: Right, we'll stay here until you get back.
King of Swamp Castle: And make sure he doesn't leave.
Guard #1: What?
King of Swamp Castle: Make sure he doesn't leave.
Guard #1: The prince?
King of Swamp Castle: Yes, make sure he doesn't leave.
Guard #1: Oh, yes, of course.
[Points at Guard #2]
Guard #1: I thought you meant him. You know, it seemed a bit daft me I were to guard him when he's a guard.
King of Swamp Castle: Is that clear?
Guard #2: [hiccups]
Guard #1: Oh, quite clear. No problems.
King of Swamp Castle: Right.
[King of Swamp Castle turns to leave the room, both guards follow him]
King of Swamp Castle: Where are you going?
Guard #1: We're coming with you.
King of Swamp Castle: No, no, no. I want you to stay here and make sure *he* doesn't leave.
Guard #1: Oh, I see. Right.
Game 3. Minnesota Mafia (9-5) vs Black Forest Brawlers (6-8). The Brawlers have not been the winner of many brawls this season, and I see that trend continuing. I thought at the start of this season the Brawlers would be a threat, but with lvl 24 equip, lvl 25 VA pts, boosting, and numerous other variables this season has thrown at the teams, this team has been an also-ran in elite league #2. I expect that the Brawlers emerge next season in a more favorable locale than an elite league and continue on their winning ways. I am going to put the line at 21 points, and that the Mafia win by 27, and cover easily. Sorry Brawlers, this is just not going to be your day.
Game 4. Coronado Boltz (8-6) vs SL Blood Diamonds (9-5). Okay Point Loma, SHOW ME YOUR LIGHTNING BOLT!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Hamilton_(sports)
Even though my Chargers let go of LT, they did the right thing and put a tender on Sproles. Come on now, that guy is one helluva PR guy. Oh, back to the GLB game, the Blood Diamonds should win this game by 12 points, but I think they don't. Go Boltz!!!
