GAME OF THE WEEK
I picked this game not because I think it will be the best game this week (although I think it may be the closest) but because this game is very important to both franchises. The Hippos need to win this game to stay in the race while the Hoppers need to show that they have just had a very unlucky draw for the first 7 games.
Hungry vs Algeria
The Hippos are playing a make or break game. At 4-3 they still have a chance at a playoff spot but they haven't beaten a quality team yet. The schedule gets worse from here on out for them so they need to make a statement here. The same applies to Algeria. At 2-5 they have had a very tough schedule so far. The second half of the season will be much easier for them but they face an uphill battle just to make it to .500 before week 13. They did manage to squeak by Nile though so I'm giving the Dune Hoppers the edge in a game that is pivotal to both teams.
Somali vs Nile
The Crocs have differentiated themselves from the middle of the pack but they haven't been able to get it done against top tier opponents. Somali adds another win to their impressive season.
Nairobi @ Fulham
Nairobi is coming off an impressive win over Sterling and haven't lost since week 1. Fulham hasn't notched a win against a top team yet but they came damn close against Cybertron and Nile. Close won't count here as the Death Squad continue their win streak.
Cybertron @ West Yorkshire
The Bandits just aren't ready yet to face off against this tough squad. With a tough second half schedule they could see any hopes at a playoff run disappear in the coming weeks.
Sterling vs BURUNDI
The Bulldawgs have had 2 heartbreaking losses this season so far. They couldn't get it done against Nairobi as their QBs turned the ball over 3 times. Burundi is looking to break apart from the pack and this is a game they need to win for that to happen. The Bulldawgs will be looking to bounce back hard though and I see them taking this one.
Alexandria vs West Coast
Bye week for the Aces.
Carolina vs LHC
The Tigers should sink their teeth into a neutered LHC team for their third win of the season.
West Nile @ Saskatoon
West Nile finally notches a win for the season.
