Been awhile since I've done this but thought it would spark some conversations on the forum. Going to try to keep them coming through the season but I'll only be doing Lion Conference since that's more than enough work for me. Not going to bother guessing scores as they get insane in this sim, just bolding the winner.
GAME OF THE WEEK
Kilimanjaro vs Somali
Both these teams look very solid and I'm sure both will be making a run at the playoffs. This could go either way but I'll go with the Sting only because I've seen what they can do. This is definitely game of the week material.
Dogs of War vs Sterling
The Dogs are coming off an impressive 13 win season and looking to make a name for themselves in AAA. The other Dawgs had a rough entry into AAA last year finishing 7-9 and missing out on the playoffs. While the Dogs appear to have a younger roster they come fully stocked with some deep depth. The Bulldawgs will have their hands full as they try to get off to a better start then they did last year but will the old dogs be able to hold off the younger Dogs. My guess is yes but by a very narrow margin.
Kalahari vs Alexandria
The Bushmen come into this game with a sizable advantage over the Aces. Kalahari's roster is built to win and they are stocked in depth unlike Alexandria. The Aces are a very strong team but right now they are thin in a lot of areas and that will hurt them early on. Kalahari should win this one easily as long as they don't overlook the Aces regardless of their current roster state.
Angola vs West Coast Rage
The Blood Diamonds luck out in their interconference draw as they get an easy win in what is essentially a bye week for them.
Uganda vs Nairobi
The Silverbacks went 15-1 last season and are looking to build on that this season. Nairobi gets another bad draw to open the season as they had to face MaRawk!!o last season. Uganda seems a little thin still in a few key areas but without knowing their history I can't say if that will hurt them too much. Normally I think I would go with Uganda but today I'll give Nairobi the break in a tight game that could break open for them in the second half.
Burundi vs Nigerian
Two very closely matched teams squaring off here. The big difference in the game will be the Nightmares HBs. I don't think Burundi's defense will have much success in stopping them so they'll have to try and keep up with Nigerian by playing mistake free for 60 minutes.
Nile vs P-Town
The Ballaz still have some holes to fill that are currently occupied by CPU player on offense so Nile should be able to take advantage with their deep roster.
West Nile vs Covington
West Nile is a work in progress and this will be an easy victory for the Black Knights.
Mayotte vs Algeria
What better way to follow up a perfect season than to get started on another attempt at a perfect season. Should be an easy win for Mayotte.
Ivory Coast vs Fulham
Both teams look tough but I've got to give Ivory Coast the nod here due to their slightly superior roster and the fact that they are always a tough team.
LHC vs Sahara
It's always sad when a solid franchise shuts it doors for a reboot and it's even worse when two once proud franchises are duking it out against each other. In past seasons this would have been up for game of the week but in their current states neither team is going to be making any noise this season. In a few seasons though I'm sure we'll see these guys climbing the mountain back up to crush us once again.
Saskatoon vs MaRAWK!!o
Bye week as the Vulcanos fire dies out against the RAWK.
Carolina vs Barcelona
The Tigers have the better roster but can they overcome the enormous hits to chemistry to come away with the win. My guess is yes but just barely.
West Yorkshire vs The Dead Presidents
This was runner-up for gotw with two very solid teams coming off 3 and 2 loss seasons respectively. Should be a very good game that comes down to the wire.
Cybertron vs Santa Ana
Another great interconference matchup lined up here. Don't know a thing about either team but when you're facing a team that didn't lose a game until the league championship you are definitely an underdog. Cybertron comes away with a hard fought win.
Deutschland vs Hungry Hungry
This should be yet another solid game. Going with the Doom just cause I loved the game way back when. Sorry Hippos but you definitely were not one of my favorite games.
