Hey guys,

This offseason I retirered a few players and had enough flex to make a OT and plenty left over. Now I want this LT to be a beast when he is up in his 30s or 40s. I currently have 2000 extra flex and wondering if I should buy Custom EQ. I know this is highly recommended if you wish to have a successfull player. Now onto the build, from what I've read blocking and strength are the main priority when building tackles, but which one do I focus in on more for a LT?

I am currently trying to keep blocking about 5-10 skill points ahead of strength and have been training on intense since he was made...is this a good move? or should I be on regular training and try to cap blocking or strength as soon as possible...?

Any advice would be appreciated, I'm just trying to learn and create the best player I can. If anyone has a good LT build that they would like to share, then please show. Just so I can get a feel of how he should look..

Thanks

Personally I build my LTs the same as I build my RTs. I let SAs separate the builds later on.

Here is my generic guide.

1 Take strength to 69 no later than level 10. Make sure to train it to 28+ with 85% to99% trained by level 2 so you can reach the first cap no later than level 2 or 3. Sandbag the training until step 3. (Train blocking/agility while doing this)
2 Take blocking to 74 by level 25. (You probably should 1st cap blocking with 85% to 95% trained no later than level 13 to reach this goal.) Train agility during this step. You can mix up the other skill if you are intense training. Speed or stamina would go well with agility.
3 Train both strength and blocking a couple more times to take advantage of your sandbagged training. They should both be about 75+ by now.
4 Take agility to 77 no later than level 42. Again use the training trick by leaving the skill 85% to 99% trained at the first cap. Train vision/confidence during this step.
5 While doing step 4 you will probably reach a point where vision/confidence reach 41. This is a great point to stop training them and cap them with your next 3 boosts. Then you can go back to finish step 4 by taking agility to 77.
6 Train agility from 77 to 78 using your sandbagged training. So now you should have about 78+ in strength, blocking and agility by level 42.
7 balance out the build by taking speed, vision, and confidence to 61 and stamina to 50+. Do not be afraid to train skills after their first cap. Also do not be afraid to spend SP on SAs at this point if you are waiting to train skills to a point where they can be capped.
8 Use AE and CE to help you reach your SA goals. Personally I buy CE at level 13 or 14 but do not fill the SA tree until much later in my players career. Usually around level 32 or 40ish I know what SAs I want. Also that is a good time to start shopping for AE.
9 Put all eq into strength. SAs and VAs combined with your blocking that should reach 83ish naturally will give you enough blocking to run and pass block. The high strength will help you pancake pass rushing DEs and slow them down later in the game.

Well, not everybody agrees with my strategy but it generally makes an OT with 83 in strength, blocking, and agility by his mid level 60's. This makes for a very modular OT that can move some eq around to meet the current or future sim strategies.

Good luck.

I agree with this. Later on you might get a bit more strength for a RT and a little more agility for a left tackle but in general there doesn't have to be a big difference. A good tackle is a good tackle imo.
