Warrior General Games

Okay, so I am bored and looking to create some chatter for season 14 and see what we have in some of the newest members of the APL (welcome). Looking at last season and what teams have done this off season, here are my Top 10 for Season 14:

1) Swaziland Dachshunds - I'm going with the defense wins championships saying here as this team let up a high game of 24 points on defense last season. Swarming defense with speed everywhere, one mistake is usually all it takes for this team to win. If the offense can put up some numbers this team could be scary.

2) Kickin Djibouti - In a season when the SIM said no to passing, KD turned a blind eye and threw the ball all over the place finishing with over 5,000 yards and 59 TD's through the air. Gave the Dogs all they could handle in the final and might be ready to get over the hump this season.

3) Capetown Tsotsi - Rumor has it this team is stock piled with talent so you might want to get them early. Daily PM's from PP to Bort asking for 8 preseason games is true, they want all the time they can get to raise their chemistry bars!

4) Windhoek White Rhinos - When you combine a top owner with top GM's and top agents, you get a team that simply reloads every season with new talent. The team jet is loaded with dirty women that their players seem to love and some new additions to go along with angry management over last seasons ending, Lion might be in for a long one this season.

5) Pirgos Warlords - I know any team that can moon walk their way through AAA and into APL will be very tough. Knowing Kylos and his player builds, don't be surprised if this team walks in and does a Dakar all the way into WPL. Sleep on this team and you are going to get stomped...So much for coming in the side door, we know you are here!

6) GRiTs - I have no idea what to expect this season, we have added some young talent to go along with players coming into their peak seasons. I know for me nothing less than a league title is acceptable and with our chemistry out of the basement to start the season know that we are coming to get some this season...

7) Sons of Anubis - This is a team that leaves me with my head scratching at times, you think they are done and they will come up with a big upset and then follow that with a loss to a lower team. They have talent and great GM's, is this the season it all comes together?

8) Tanzania Mountaineers - Coming off of a 12-4 season, this team can beat anybody but really needs a signature win this season to show that they belong with the elite. Their 4 losses where to solid playoff teams (3 rated above them here) while their wins where mostly cake walks.

9) Rhodesia Ratels - "Ratels, mean little badgers. We bite your ankles and steal your women!" - Doesn't anything else really need to be said?

10) Carthaginian War Elephants - 16-0 last season and now adding the aging Phil Krundle to the mix, could this team come in and shake up the APL? For the record, it is an outrage that Krundle would leave the Elephant to go play in the Kitten conference, where is the Boston loyalty! No WOooof today, you are now a Meow....

On a side note, whoever from Elephant makes it to the finals, you need to carry the torch and keep the trophy where it belongs!

Season 13 - Boston Dogs
Season 12 - DD
Season 11 - ASM

There is officially a streak going on in Elephant....For all those teams who did not make my Top 10, show me something!

Swaziland and KD are definitely 1-2 coming into the season, although who is the best of those two is debatable.

Looks like Capetown took a major chemistry hit, I would predict a season similar to what GRiTs went through last season. Couple of early losses to hurt playoff positioning but dangerous in the end nonetheless.

I would move Sons of Anubis up into the top 5 to start in their place.

Pirgos Warlords look like the real deal.

As for Krundle, he is kind of a non-factor at this point. Going to do a little mentoring, and play a Freddie-Mitchell type roll, with an occasional celebrity-guest-appearance pancake.

I know that they were looking to combine with another team. Looks like they did. I hate when team know that they are going to gut and take the promotion anyway.

IMO, Cape 1a and Rhinos 1b...then again, i have players on each team

If only I was whitelisted...Galk, you have to be on Bort's whitelist. Get on this shit! Ask for 10, though. If you're going to shoot for the sky, may as well aim at the moon!

Thanks for the writeup RJ. We are very good at some spots (think our D may be one of the best in APL this ssn), good in others and OK in a few spots. No BS appraisal, we'll most likely take some lumps this regular ssn. The nice thing is that between chem and some youngsters, we should keep getting better as the ssn rolls along, peaking in the POs (unlike last ssn when we went down hill from day 1). I'm confident that we'll make the POs, but I'd be kind of surprised if we host a game. However, I wouldn't want to play us in the POs either. I think we could be a fairly dangerous team by then.

Looking over the new teams, I think APL did indeed get tougher this ssn.

Rhinos too high... We are not a top 10 team. Nothing to see here.

Besides, my FB alone should put us in the Top 10

Stoli Huskies here for our 1st season. I can tell you from experience that Pirgos Warlords are legit as they beat us twice in tough games last season in AAA.

Thanks for doing this. Though, you've overcompensated in favor of the weaker LOLion conference. Top 6 or 12 teams or so are in Elephant.

It is the kitten conference and we should know sometime in the next 365 days when season 14 starts!
