So after a couple seasons averaging less than 10 wins, you figure Strain is ready to make the big leap to being a front runner? I hate to say it middawg, but this ain't season 11 (the last season Andromeda was relevent) and it's going to take more than brash talk to take that top spot. Your team is definitely able to do so, and I thought you have underacheived so far so we'll see.
If you are seriously are going to make a run for it I think your timing is stellar as this may be the easiest Gold season yet for Western teams. With HHM, Crabs, and Pats going under, it's a more open field this year and teams that likely wouldn't get a sniff at a trophy are going to actually have a chance.
Good luck! The East should be easier too without CC and Wam, and if I was able to get that trohpy the fact that it happened during an 'off' season wouldn't bother me one bit.

i don't think it is fair to say that this is the easiest season ...just because these teams have opted out, doesn't mean that all the good teams are gone ...they are getting out coz they know that it is too intense to remain involved with after making names for themselves at the highest level ...crabs were 1 and done! ...they proved themselves now they are gone! ...there will be more teams to bob up like that, coz the GLB egos can only allow so much before they have to come down and show us 'little dudes' how easy this league can be when you have the boosters and the spare time to game plan
I agree; that is why I was careful to say it "may be the easiest Gold season" and while Crabs were an early riser, HHM has been elite for some time and losing them alone makes it easier for all teams. For sure we'll see some new faces step up and there is no shortage of talent, and if these teams were dropping out of Gold it would be different. But we're losing some great teams (for whatever reason) and they are being forced to go CPU or experiment...not the same.
I like what I heard from one of the crabs representatives about making it so peewee players don't need to pay so much if they are only innit for one season, coz then teams like HHM would be able to keep on representing ...but the expense of trying to do that season after season, is too demanding the way it is

I somewhat disagree with this and your previous statement. I think you're underestimating or under-valuing the dedication and commitment of the owners and agents. We all know it's not an easy task to find people who are committed to a game/group of people to make a team successful for one season, let alone season after season. The expense is more than just monetary.
At some point reality takes over and real life needs occur. I don't think it's so much a "made it to the top - so now I can quit" mentality or a GLB ego-trip.
nuff said. Now GOOOO STRAIN and UNLEASH THE HOUNDS!!! (or whatever a viral war cry is - maybe SPREAD THE DISEASE!!!) LOL
Well said Dline! I think the time required to constantly scout and change/ improve your game plan was the biggest reason for me. Expense bothered me some, not just for me but it also bothered me to ask my agents to boost and custom EQ... the game is more fun when you have alot of players and considering 10 bucks only gets you 1200-1500 flex (depending on what package you purchased) ...competitive Pee Wee is too expensive.
I actually thought avboutshutting the Crabs down after last season and it had nothing to do with our loss to the Cows. I game planned alot in Silver.. Season 12 was only my second season on the game - so I didn't know what to expect from Silver. Every human team, I game planned.. and every CPU team I game planned for max plays and equal XP. Then you add the game planning I did for the Official Tourney last season.. I already knew we were one and done regardless of how we did this season in Gold.
As for Favorites in the West...
West teams already in gold Tombstone Nawlins
Newcomers.. I didn't watch any games from The Agency, Minutemen, Revolver this last season.. but I have watched Wood Village and 85 Bears and I would be surprised if they weren't playoffs teams
Even though the Crabs are done... and I'm still hopefull we'll be moved out of Gold... I didn't want to leave Gold. So, I have joined Tombstone and we're gonna combine our AIs .and build knowledge... barring any major sim changes we're looking to improve on what our teams did last season.
