It's awfully quiet around here.

A couple of big games today:

Wallachia vs Le Thor-This should be the best game of the day, as these two teams battle it out for the #2 spot. This could be a preview of a possible 2nd round playoff matchup too. Do you show your hand now to get the #2 spot, and an extra home playoff game, or do you hold it to surprise your opponent in the playoffs. I say, play to win.
Wallachia 27 vs Le Thor 23
Ironton vs Luxembourg-I think both teams have their playoff spots wrapped up, but this should be a good game regardless. Again, this could be a possible round #2 matchup. Pete assured everyone in the preseason that Lux could play within 35 of the Tanks. We'll find out today.
Ironton 36 vs Luxembourg 3
Houston vs the Gigolos-This is the most interesting game of the day for the Tanks, as the loser of this game gets the #8 spot, and gets to play the Tanks in the 1st round. This should be a great game.
Houston 44 vs Gigolos 41

Sorry, I'm not as good as Scully. When is he going to return to his Ranking duties?

Sorry man...still Disneylagged and trying to get everything unpacked and ready to return to work tomorrow. We've decided to throw in the towel to Le Thor today and keep our big surprise for the playoffs. I'll be having our Punter playing QB and our DBs manning the offensive line. We aren't gameplanning at all and as a matter of fact I'm on my 4th Vodka Tonic right now. Plus the football games are coming on and I have to go to the grocery store and I need to vacuum out the van.......have I made enough excuses so that if we lose I can pretend I meant to??

Should be a great game....sorry about the rankings....how bout a quick one now before the game?

1) Ironton
- no explanation needed

2) Darfur - Running the table in Elephant

3) Wallachia - controls their own destiny as far as playoff seeding

4) Le Thor - see above

5) Appalachicola - Steadily moved up the ranks and look to be able to play with anyone not named after an element on the periodic table

6) Fat Jaws Badness - Sort of up and down....one week don't look that great but I see they routed Kazam while I was gone so they obviously can play.

7) Luxembourg - rounds out the upper echelon teams. How well can they stay with the Tanks?

8) Uganda
- finally playing like I thought they would earlier in the season. They could ambush Luxembourg in the 1st round next week.

9) Kazan - Chemistry getting closer to full but don't see them getting past Darfur in round 2

10) Serengeti - Beat who they're supposed to beat...lose to who they shouldn't beat. 1st round matchup with Wallachia or Le Thor will not be fun for them

Honorable Mention-

Houston - playing much better at the end of the season - close game with Le Thor last week may make interesting playoff matchup with one of the top teams
Abbotsford - lots of wins but have not looked good against the upper tier teams
Johannesburg - "Wait till next year!!"

Predictions:
Le Thor vs Wallachia - Not gonna jinx my team or give any bulletin board material this week - inclement weather forces a stoppage of play in the 2nd quarter with the game tied at 10-10

Ironton vs Lux - I like the Lions but Ironton is just too strong and with the Lions locked into #4 seed, I don't see them gameplanning anything this week and trying to put together a strategy for the playoffs. Ironton 63 -7

Gigolos vs Cowboys
- Out of the loop last week so was surprised to see how close Houston played Le Thor although I suspect a vanilla gameplan from Le Thor had a lot to do with it. But I remember my Wamphyrii had some difficulties with the Houston D in our game and I think that right now, they're playing better football. The Gigolos could become a power if they stay together but it won't happen this year. Houston 31-20

Nothing in Elephant this week that looks interesting so we'll wait for the playoff edition.

Wow...wasn't expecting that. Le Thor must have gone with the "let's get them overconfident" strategy. Their last 2 games were curious....close win to Houston and not showing up vs Wallachia. Was looking toward this game for a couple weeks and not sure what to make of it now.

Playoff seeds are set...I'll get a playoff edition up tomorrow night sometime. Interesting matchups will be:
Uganda vs Luxembourg
Le Thor vs Serengeti (if Le Thor doesn't get it together)
Kazan vs Abbotsford

I don't know who pissed off Wallachia, but I am glad it happened this week instead of the playoffs. I haven't watched that game yet, and don't know if I should or not.
Congrats to the Gigolos for taking care of business today. I didn't give you guys enough credit. Sorry.
Although Lux and Pete didn't hold up their end of the assurance to stay within 35 points against the Tanks, they do deserve credit for coming in with a pretty good gameplan. If I could have tackled that LB on the INT return I would have myself. The Tanks will be working on some things offensively and defensively now.

Good Luck to everyone in the playoffs.

No complaints here. The Lions scored more points against the Tanks than anyone else has this season, so we have nothing to be ashamed about. Congrats to the Tanks for playing a great game, now let the playoffs begin!

No worries, I thought it was going to be a closer game than it was, also. Credit to our D coordinator for putting together a good gameplan.

Good luck to everyone in the playoffs! Hope we can put up a better showing 2nd time around against Wallachia.
