One week left to go. There we re some critical playoff matchups this week that are causing some current top 8 teams to teeter on the edge of elimination and some teams on the outside still clinging to hope. Despite my analysis in week 14, it appears that there is still a slim chance for salvador to take the 8th spot. More explained below.

Naga
For the locked in teams in naga, we can now add in Berlin and Vella to the list of teams that have survived the season and will be heading into post season play. Mount Krakatoa is close but they do play Pamploma which has a huge affect on who will make the last few spots. A loss by Krakatoa will drop them to 9-7 and tie them with them and put them into the 8th spot (head to head loss) which would eliminate Dallas and Salvador.

I do have to take back the Salvador elimination as a scenario has cropped up that could potentially (albeit very slim) chance of them taking the 8th spot. Because Salvador has beaten Pamplona earlier in the season if both Pamplona and Dallas lose in week 16, and Salvador wins their last game it will put them into a 3 way tie with a 1-1 head to head record. This will then push them to the next tie breaker of points allowed. They are definitely not in the drivers seat for this scenario and are relying on Krakatoa and the Berlin Bombers pulling out wins in their games to give them this shot. However if this does occur, Salvador has to allow 70 fewer points than Dallas sunday. Dallas is at 355 PtsAlwd, Salvador is at 425. It's a huge obstacle but they are not eliminated.

Gaurda
Nothing has changed really in the Garuda Conf as far as i can tell at a quick glance. War Machine is still in the drivers seat for the 7th spot but the 8th spot is still in contention by 3 teams- St Mary's, Greece and Angola. St mary's is on a 3 game slide and has a serious chance of being knocked out of the playoffs if they can't hang on in the last game against Similan. Having lost to both Angola and Greece earlier in the season, St Mary's will be eliminated if they end up at an 8-8 tie with either Angola or Greece.
Angola actually has a solid shot of moving into 8th place as they have the easiest last opponent (georgetown) while the other two teams play other locked playoff contenders.

None of those teams cannot afford to lose their next game, and yet at the same time each of these teams are relying on each other to lose in order to make it in. Greece has a slight advantage over Angola with a head to head win but facing off a tough Karls team does not help them.

Week 16 is going to have a number of critical games, Buffalo vs Taiping, the 6 teams contending for the 8th place spot in both conferences, Exiles vs Canabis. This looks to be an interesting last game of the season. Not usually going to see so many spots up for grabs at the last week.

Man we (War Machine) have been scratching and clawing in our first season after being moth balled to build the stadium. AA is no joke.

Thanks as usual alindyl, I enjoyed my time with Buffalo last season, because of this type of stuff. Maybe WM can make some noise next season, because I am sure the playoff game with Manila Gorillas or TAIPING GOLDEN CATS will be a real nail biter. LOL

You're quite welcome, i don't mind doing these as it gives me some time to focus on something other than the next game and see how things are working out league wide. AA is quite a weird grouping with such a wide variety of team capabilities it can take some time to get used to and work up to the point where a team is truly competitive.

This off season was one of the tougher recruiting seasons for some positions but hopefully bort will smarten up and instead of trying to sell CPU teams, he'll consolidate the leagues to cut down on the number of teams competing for players. The pool has shrunk from the initial season 1-4 boom of people joining (and being afraid to restart players). I would bet that a lot of people that started players from season 4-6 deleted their players once word got around on how to actually build players correctly so there just aren't enough guys to go around.

I think another trend we might start seeing is what many teams have done this season, instead of just all the highest level players, many have gone to diversifying their teams (level wise) so that retirement/declines don't do as much damage to the overall strength of the team.
