What is the thinking about an owner who writes a welcome new players thread on the team forum yesterday and today is sneakily going CPU and trying to trade all the players without any notice to the team?
Just curious? Is this normal? does it happen all the time?
Appreciate the discussion.
Thanks

Not normal, perhaps guy had something come up in his life. REally would think that would be communicated.

Internet attracts all kinds of personalities. No that is not the norm. RL issues, change of heart, screw loose, who knows.

Well it seems that the latest update is that the hypo Owner is now trading away players left and right so would that make it officially a crappy thing to do???

yes, officially very crappy, especially if recruited folks just to trade them. Makes for a pretty sucky year and thing. Again, don't know what is going on in guys life. Some times stuff happens. But not handled well regardless.

Maybe he lost his job in the real life and suffered from depression now.

Or maybe he's not really going to go cpu. He just wants to make tons of money for his team to get ready for next season.

well it a pretty low class move, if he recruits players for his team with sole intent of trading for cash...

I would like to accept an 1 y./disallowed trade contract if my players have to play outside.

Well its official I was hoping the owner would class up and be a man but obviously he is all about the money and could care less for the agents he recruited to play for him. The real classless moves came in the sneaky underhanded way he went about it. No less then 2 days prior he was welcoming us to the team and posting messages on the forums about the teams season expectations all the while setting up the betrayal. I cannot think of a worse way to go about it.
Honesty is ALWAYS the best policy and if he was honest we all could have worked it out together and he could stand tall and look in the mirror but instead he went the way of some Enron executive and raided the people who work for hims life savings because it was a little better for his virtual bank account.

So to texasholic1041 and (Co owners name removed by request) Co-owners of the AUSTIN STAMPEDE I call you out and expose you to the league.
People need to know when Owners act dishonorably and backstab thier agents. Agents need to know who to look out for in the future so they can avoid owners who do not represent the league in a honorable and upstanding manner.

Please join me in spreading the word. Unfortunatly it is the only way we can protect ourselves.
Hmm Maybe we need a Union????

Maybe you should ask him to cut your players at first.

Contract: $132,000.00/yr - Exp. season 15, Day 40

It's a bad contract.

I am an agent with two players on the Austin Stampede. Most of what Smashmouth is saying is true (although I would say he's overreacting a bit), at this point several requests to have players released have gone ignored, and also after the owner stated he would cancel pending trades, he has allowed them to go through. He's systematically gutting the team for money, and continually misleading his agents.

They had a good team too. Sorry to see a fellow owner act that way. He has the right idea building the stadium, but wrong approach at the expense of agents who thought they were joining a legit team. Agents who sign contracts longer than day 40, 1 season without a no trade clause are putting their players at risk. Even more so if you don't know the owner.

It's a petty that my roster is full now, or I can trade for some of your players and renegotiate their contract.

I have to wait another two days to release my Lv.1 players. Maybe it's too late.
