Two games to go, top seeds are almost set but the rest is still up for grabs. Huge matchup on the horizon, ABD vs the up and coming LOL, I can't wait to see what transpires in the most anticipated matchup of the season. Can ABD cement their legacy of mediocrity and go 7-9 and not make the playoffs yet again, I think so. Cal Ripken has nothing on this streak...The only thing more interesting than this matchup is the APL FS debate, I'm putting my $$$ on R Jones, but let the debate rage on.....
1) Windhoek White Rhinos - Ever since my assistant Tricon took over, the Rhino's offense has been unstoppable. Randey and BB have the defense clicking and this team is putting it all together for the stretch run. This will be a tough out come playoff time.
2) GRiTs - Despite their loss to the C85, they remain one win away from clinching their second consecutive one seed, what they do with it remains to be seen.
3) Doinitin Djibouti - Rumors are flying around that this may be the last hurrah for DD, but the fact remains this is the best team in APL when they game plan and put in a top effort. How about ABD and the accomplishment of not losing by more than 100, way to go guys! The big story in this one was Freddie notching his first TD of the season!
4) Dar es Salaam Warrior Kings - 1 point away from beating the Rhino's and 1 point away from losing to the Fever should keep the Kings from getting complacent. This team just keeps winning and should be the only thing other than a bazooka that can stop the Rhino's.
5) The Chad OchoCinco - No doubt this has been a strange season, but this team can beat anybody. The downside, they have shown they can lose to anybody as well. I have a feeling they will make some noise in the playoffs and I am hoping a DD rematch is in the works.
6) Somalia Warlords - I am going to move the Warlords up, but I have a feeling this stay will be short lived, games with the Pirates and DD will show if this team is for real or not. I think 11 wins is all that is in the cards this season.
7) Somalia Pirates - Nice win over the Dogs today puts them in a position to lock up a 3 seed with a win over the Warlords later this week. Do the Pirates have what it takes to make a final run in APL, time will tell....
8) South African Ridgebacks - 3rd place Lion team took a hard hit losing 2 of the last 3 games and having back to back games in Tanzania may prove hazardous to their health. Really need to win out and erase all doubt that they are a top 4 Lion team.
9) Nairobi Warthogs - Two wins in a row keep the Hogs hanging on to a playoff spot, are they sandbagging for the playoffs this season or have they fallen hard since the days of WPL? I'm looking forward to the last game of the season against C85 which could shake up the entire Elephant playoff picture.
10) This could be the kiss of death spot as the Sons of Anubis have lost 3 straight since cracking the Top 10. The Dogs would have had this spot or higher, but a loss today followed by an upcoming game against DD officially puts this teams back to the wall. Answer Please gets my vote based on their 10-4 record.
Good luck to all the teams for the last two games, things are about to get interesting...
