Pancake is higher up the tree but cut block sounds better to me.....what's you take?

personally, I have never seen an increase in pancakes with that attribute leveled up. not to mention that the Center is going to be going up against the strongest defenders so pancakes will tend to be less than your OT's. For a center I actually like the cut block more.

Pancake is great when you have your opponent totally out-leveled and out-built. You score lots of pancakes with it. But it sucks when your opponent is anywhere near the same level as you. So if you enjoy beating up on terrible opponents and don't mind losing to good opponents, go nuts with Pancake.

I'd say, 4 out of (now) 6 posters in this thread got the Pancake SA wrong. SA Pancake is not only about pancaking the opponent, but more about getting him off balance.

Are you telling me you think it is still effective? The players I've seen with points in pancakes have worse builds and perform worse than those who avoided the Pancake SA. They're just worse than other linemen.
Maybe it's because these players went after the pancake SA way too soon in their builds, but the players with pancake were built worse and performed worse overall. I haven't seen any Pancakes builds that avoided SA's until later in their careers, built up pancake, and performed well. Maybe they are out there, but I haven't seen any.
I have seen players with 12 points and more in pancake (one as high as 18, lol) and these players do not perform well. Basically, it just seems that the people who concentrate on pancake do tend to have inferior builds overall. I'm still looking for the player with a good build AND high pancake.
