Warrior General Games

I figure its about time for another installment. The forums have quieted down lately, so maybe this will spark some banter. So, without further ado....... (what the hell is ado anyways? A soccer player?)


Lion

1. Capetown Tsotsi
Despite the crazy loss to JJ, these guys are still the class of the league, and the favorites in my book to win it all. They have a couple of tough games left, but I think they will win out and take the 2nd seed.

2. Johannesburg Jackals
The team is pretty broke after paying off Houdini to make that last game magic happen. The team is pretty good, but probably have a ways to go to catch Capetown.

3. The Nile Denial
TND has a firm hold on that #3 spot, but have a chance to move up. They have tough games remaining against Balls, Capetown, and PTT. If they win out, they will take the 2nd seed in the playoffs.

4. Carthaginian War Elephants
I think they are clearly the #4 team, and probably will be the 4th seed come playoff time. They have beaten both PTT and Balls, and have only one tough game left on the schedule.

5. Dryden Blue Balls
Dryden slips into the 5th spot due to an impressive win over PTT. Their next game against TND will be a real slug fest, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they came away with a win.

6. PTT Rebels
PTT falls down to 6th since my last rankings due to losses to both CWE, and Dryden. Although they have only 2 losses on the season, their remaining schedule is the toughest in the entire league. They still have to play Capetown, JJ, and TND.

7. Côte d'Ivoire Corsairs
CDC takes the 7th spot due to an earlier win over LXA. A win over the Mambas in their next game would solidify their #7 ranking even more.

8. League of Extraordinary A-Holes
LXA hasn't quite had the season that many thought they would, but this is still a good team. They have a game with CWE on the last day of the regular season that should be fun to watch.


Elephant

1. Rhodesia Ratels
Holding strong at #1 with a 23 point win over Choctaw. They have a couple of interesting games remaining, but I expect them to finish strong.

2. Choctaw Cracker Party
They've beaten everyone they needed to, with the exception of RR. They have an interesting match up with AFF the last game of the regular season, which could be a good one.

3. Swaziland Semnikati
Despite their loss to CP, Swaziland holds onto the 3rd spot in the conference. With a couple of tough games left on the schedule, they will have to work hard to keep this spot though.

The next 6 teams are pretty interchangeable, so I'm just going to put them down in print. Pretty much any of them are capable of finishing 4th through 9th. It should be a pretty wild finish to the season in Elephant.

Yeah, RR and CWE were pretty close in my mind, but I put CWE ahead because they played TND closer. Choctaw and Dryden were close as well, I just went with my gut on that one. As for PTT, they beat the Presidents by more than SS and RSJ combined, so that's why they were at the 8 spot. About 6 different teams could go at the 10 spot, I just closed my eyes and picked one

Can't go by single games though. Some really big swings from game to game. It really makes it hard to tell.
River City beat Cote D'Ivoire 32-6
AFF beat River City pretty soundly and I didn't put them on the list.

In reality 1-2 are definitely the top 2 and you cuold switch.

3-5 are the next 3 and not sure where they should go

6-7 are the next 2

Swaziland is probably a solid 8

Then after that there are a whole bunch of teams that could make up 9 and 10

Oh, there are definitely big swings from game to game, but going by anything other than the actual games played is just guessing really.

IMO, 1 and 2 are definitely the top 2, like you said.

TND is definitely the #3. They have beaten RR and CWE, and deserve to be alone at 3

RR and CWE are pretty even and interchangeable at 4 and 5

6&7 are Choctaw and Balls, and they could go either way as well.

After 6&7, you are pretty much just making your best guess. PTT lost to CWE by 3 points, and Dryden by 6 points, and handled CP easily. They have not lost to a lower "ranking" team all season, and SS has. In my mind its clearly PTT at #8 (for now anyways)

9 would be SS all by themselves, just slightly behind PTT

10........ meh too many to list one.

At the end of the season, it won't matter. It'll be Choctaw or Rhodesia standing atop the mutilated and steaming corpse of the last LOLion team, fangs dripping. At that point, who's number 1? Certainly not the desecrated carcass of a former LOLion team?
