I got these - +2 STR +1 CutBlock
+3 STR +1 First Step

I know I should be looking for Line General but I wonder if these could be usefull? Thoughts?

The cut block piece is nice. The only saving grace on the other is the fact that it has +3 strength. I abhor first step, it's useless.

I think First Step would be a waste on a center.

The Cut Block could be nice, but are you going to adding skill points to that tree to help build it up? I think any SA only has true value once it gets to 7 or higher. At 4 or 5 I don't think they provide enough value to be worth worrying about.

Either supplement the Cut Block with other skill points or else I would hope to find something else.

Worth it to get a line general. Nothing else, I don't think the shopping time is worth trying to get a +2 stat +1 get low. Might as well just spend the SP on get low and save the bonus tokens for those +2 stat

If you can get two LG pieces and save yourself the SP of having to even touch anything else on the Pass Blocking tree..

Ultimate = a LG and a Pancake piece, one giving +3 Strength and the other giving +5% Hold Block Chance

Worth getting stats for center aka bonus token which will have more impact than a LG or PK piece training 2 atts+the +1 att you will get will cover and get you more sps than you would with those AEQs and the time trying to find it and C is a position that depends on atts the most, i barely saw a diff on my C since i got there SAs up.

WARNING: This post is tl;dr but if you want some math and haven't looked at AEQ this way, go ahead and read....

Based on experience (Having 2 Cs with 9 line general and 15 in natural leader in a 99/1 rotation and observing energy over the last few seasons), I don't think going above 10 line general is worth it, at all. But getting up there seems worth it. Diminishing returns seem to set in and this appears to me, from an end-game energy/morale perspective, to be the sweet spot. With that in mind...

Two LG pieces will get you to 10 line general, and cost you 128 bonus tokens = 32 skill points of opportunity cost.

One LG piece, and going to 1-1-1-2-4 in the tree will get you 9 line general and cost you 15 skill points and 64 bonus tokens = 31 skill points of opportunity cost.

Taking LG to 10 base would mean going 1-2-3-5-10, costing 44 skill points.

So there are a few judgement calls to make. Which would you rather do..

0-0-0-0-10 (32 skill points)
1-1-1-2-9 (31 skill points)
1-2-3-5-10 (44 skill points)

My personal opinion is that it is a total toss-up between the first two. The part this IGNORES is the TIME it takes to shop. If it takes 1 season to find a line general piece, that is a loss of 20 bonus tokens, or 5 more skill points!!! So if you factor the "it takes a season to find line general on average", you're actually looking at

0-0-0-0-10 (42 skill points)
1-1-1-2-9 (36 skill points)
1-2-3-5-10 (44 skill points)

Where I think it becomes painfully obvious that taking the time to find that last line general piece was NOT worth the amount of skill points it saves you.

Now, you could disagree with me in many places. The second way only gets you 9 instead of 10... or maybe you want to go up to 15.. or maybe you think you could find a line general piece faster than a season (not in my experience!), or maybe you're hoping that the AEQs come with an added bonus on them (but now you're talking longer shopping time and higher cost yet again...).

But for me, my personal C strategy is simply..

Shop until you find a line general piece, who cares what it comes with, and upgrade it completely. Take SAs to 1-1-1-2-4 base (15 SP), and use custom on the RUN BLOCK tree, because 300 flex isn't worth a measly +1 to line general. Accept that 9 with natural leader is all you'll have.

Now for your second AEQ piece, you have a few options. But I think you NEED to get a +2 strength / +3 agility / +2 blocking with run block or +2% hold block chance (+5% is barely better than +2%, dunno why people get such a hard-on for the extra 3%), and the value such a piece gives you is very minimal over just using cash-in to supplement your stats.

I found a +1 LG and a +3 AGI, +1 LG piece fairly quickly. Only took a couple weeks.

I'm rocking the 1-1-1-1-9 right now, with thoughts of eventually switching out the non-AGI LG piece or the CEQ over to the run blocking tree.

What about Get Low on C?

I know this is not looked upon as the best for a C, as most like Line General, but I'm test building a pancake C.

Trees will be as follows at 56:
0-0-0-0-0
11-11-1-1-11

I'm even thinking of really pushing the envelope on this to test pancake, something like:
11-11-3-5-19 at level 56

Originally took str to 80, blocking to 74, now working agility (68), speed (48), stamina (48) before pushing SA Tree. Build up agility to 74, speed 65, confidence 60 and vision capped after SAs. I'll let you guys know how it pans out.

So only worry about Line General for Centers? Even if it is just 1 Line General?
