Sometime this season I'm going to study my Oceania history but I think Zeta leads in interconference victories (I'll be compiling it all into a thread so anyone with knowledge of conference/league champs, mvp's, players of repute, etc can help me out). These predictions aren't going to have a lot of meat to them because I haven't had time to dissect all 32 teams this offseason, so I'm basing everything off of general impressions and how the sun, stars and moon align.
Samoa Gangsters vs Nottingham Hoods
Samoa is always a team that people expect big things from and as the old man in this league it's on them to compete well. Nottingham is a solid squad that should compete for the crown in their conference but hasn't been tested at all so far this preseason (and won't be vs Olden). This could be a good thing or a bad thing or a little of both (opponent doesn't really have anything to scout but on the flip side they don't know the true effectiveness of their plays). I think this will be a good game for both teams to see where they stand.
Winner- Nottingham by 7
Guam Gorillas vs N.M.I. Pagan Fire Eaters
Guam needs to get it's stuff straight and with a quickness because the Fire Eaters will take no prisoners. It's preseason but the Pagan's have whipped up on their Zeta rivals pretty convincingly and want another skull for their trophy case. Jane Goodall isn't around boys, you have to fend for yourselves.
Winner- Fire Eaters by 28
Berlin Kreuzberg Red Stars vs Micronesia Megalodons
Can't really say much about either team. Don't know Berlin and Micronesia is a mystery to me (expect more than 3 points vs Vanuatu and didn't even whip up on Olden enough for an elite team against a gutted team). I think this may be a close game but what do I know. Coin flip time. Heads says.....
Winner- Micronesia by 6
Guadalcanal Gunners vs German Wilddogs
What's the second thing a Gunner hates most. A Kraut. Preseason hasn't been kind to the dogs, or is it just a surprise attack and they're waiting for the regular season to spring it on their opponents? I think the Guns of Guadalcanal will be too much for them to handle.
Winner Guadalcanal by 35
Sumatra Seahawks vs Bikini Island Atomic Surfers
The Seahawks are a team that could surprise people if they're not careful, I think that they'll find their first Pro season a hard road but if they can create their own bounces, could battle with any team in the league. The Surfers have fought some of the more established Zeta teams and shown that it belongs in Pro ball. This is going to be a good hard game between two new Pro teams.
Winner Sumatra gets its first Pro W, winning by 7 points
Brisbane Bulldogs vs Fiji Ventures
Brisbane was the surprise team (along with the Flying Foxes) for the first half of their Pro debut but fell hard in the second half. They look to be improved and ready in season 12. Fiji struggled in preseason against Zeta's mid-level teams, if they don't adjust this could get ugly quick.
Winner- The bulldogs are going to take a bite out of Fiji, win by 17
Perth Pirates vs West Canaan Coyotes
Rum, wenches and dot-ball, that's the Pirates priorities. The Coyotes, well I don't really know what to say about them.
Winner yo ho yo ho Pirates by 13
Knox Nightmare vs An Album Cover
Knox hasn't transitioned well to Pro ball yet, it's a new season and here's their chance to turn it around. Don't know what to make of Album yet either. Coin flip says-
Winner- An album cover by 10.
So many damn teams, I'll add some more later/tomorrow.
